    Useful UVB
These lights, called “UVB” are to give our turtles the benefits of sunlight or vitamin D because they do not get it in captivity unless out in the sun at least 20 minutes a day. Mine is outside with sun if he chooses to go in it so I don’t rely on him going under it every day on te platform but during the winter, even here in Florida he needs this light when he can’t go outside. The other light is a heat lamp, called “UVA”. It is a 45 watt incandescent sattco from Amazon which gives turtle 90 degrees heat at 13″. Some people (I was) are using 75 watt which at 13″ gives 130 degrees!!. I found that out after my turtle didn’t bask for 2 years and I bought a berrcom handheld thermometer on Amazon and was shocked to discover that. Good thing my turtle was smart enough to avoid the platform during that time. Now he goes under both to get healthy. Set the berrcom to “surface temperature. Also good to check the water temperature even if you have a heater. Or in a feeding container as it should be a little warm. Most administrators on FB turtle groups are recommending 65 to 75 watt bulbs. I ask them how to put it on the ceiling! I have a 6” Eastern Painted turtle. But the recommendations for all the species are 90 degrees for the UVA on the platform. I have mixed in the sattco review because so important.

    Gets the job done
I have been caring for and breeding bearded dragons for over 20 years, and I have rarely used a UV light, and my dragons have always been healthy, active, and lived a long life. I am not sure the UV bulb makes as much of a difference as everyone says it does. But as a trained biologist and herpetologist I do understand the physiology behind the need for UV light so I have started using them. This was the first brand of UV bulb I have used and it seems to work well and is at a great price point. All of the bulbs I have used have lasted at least a year. They would probably last longer but overtime the UV output is diminished so I replace the bulbs after 12 months of use even if they are still working.

    Good Quality.
They do the job; however, tend to be rather pricey.

    My Beardies very happy
Had one that finally burned out, I got home from church saw that both lamps were out because of faulty wiring. Anyone that owns one of these animals know when they’re upset. So I got this replacement and again she showed her satisfaction for the new sun lamp

This UVB Light Saved My Beardie’s Life…
This light literally saved my Baby Bearded Dragon’s life and for that, I am eternally grateful. I had no idea that she needed this type of a light until I spoke with a lizard expert. My lizard was trembling and shaking and basically shutting down. She was developing Metabolic Bone Disease from lack of calcium and D3. I was also feeding her super-worms and meal worms which apparently are very bad for them because they can’t digest them properly due to their hard shells (chitin) even though all the pet stores sell them to feed to bearded dragons – who knew? I also needed to give her vitamins and supplements. So, long story short – once I put this light in, made some meal changes and added the proper supplements, I have a new, thriving and happy lizard and I am so grateful to Joan the lizard expert.

    The turtles love it!!
I am reviewing this product based on the behavior of the turtles that I have.I have 8 baby sulcata tortoises in a 50 gallon terrarium. They are a few months old now and they love the light. During the day they just sit and bathe under the sun. And when they don’t want to, they move really easily. It’s really easily to clip on and I love the simple on and off switch that comes with it. The only thing that I wish for is for the chord to be longer. I have it placed on one side so if they don’t want to sit under neath they have a space to retreat. The bulb I ended up getting with this is the NOMOYPET® Clamp Lamp Fixture for Reptiles, Adjustable Habitat Lighting & Heat Lamps Holder Stand. This light doesn’t seem to get too hot so you don’t have to worry about the turtles being uncomfortable.I would recommend this lamp fixture for those looking for a fixture to hold a

Excelente para mis pogonas, no crea un ambiente excesivamente caliente (tendiendo en cuenta que las utilizo en trópico seco)

headline is all you need, but one note:It is very long and might be poking out of the lamp, if you leave it on top of a cage, it will be at an angle if your lamp isn’t long enough.
