Lasts longer than average “night bulbs”.
Night bulbs never last very long in my experience, and while the best are the ones with genuine “rare earth” coatings, they tend to be quite expensive and still only last like 3 months if you’re lucky. These Zilla bulbs are an economical alternative that usually do quite well, I’ve had them last about 2 months at about 1/2 the cost of the better bulbs, and Amazon has the best deal by far by offering a two pack when it’s available. The big box pet stores just can’t match this regardless, but they have nearly doubled their price for these over the last year, even their own brand is now ridiculously and unnecessarily high priced. Would definitely recommend these as a very good alternative that won’t bust your budget.

Youâll have to decide if itâs worth the expense
Iâve purchased this bulb a lot over the years for my hermit crab tank. I liked them when I was using them; however they never lasted very long and I stopped using them. I chose this bulb because it mimicked moonlight and it seemed to put out a nice amount of heat. It lasted around a month at a time, which might seem like a long time but I just didnât want that expense each month. I opted to put a higher powered Fluke heating mat on the back of the tank and have no lights on during the night. That setup works well for me now and my hermits seem happy.

Burned out in just a few days
This bulb burned out in 3 or 4 days. I leave it on all the time to warm the tank for my gecko. Dont waste your money.

Works perfect. My leopard gecko is a happy camper.
My leopard gecko wasnât happy and not having his black light at night. It makes him happy where he can see to get around, but itâs not too bright to hurt his eyes as all Iâve geckos to everybody knows they like to hunt at night so this black light was perfect came in excellent condition handled with Care and I greatly appreciate it

Wish they lasted longer!
Love these bulbs but they donât last me very long. They usually only last 1-2 months instead of 3 months like another brand I use.

Great heat output. Short lifespan of 25 days.
I loved using this at night to help keep my vivarium warm, and to simulate the moonlight, for my tropical Giant Day Gecko. It created a very soft, almost hazy, “fairytale” vibe in her vivarium. I could easily imagine some little fairies or sprites peeking around some of the larger plant leaves. The soft black/purple light quality also turned her vibrant green and red pattern into a more unique aqua blue color with a deep purple tone pattern. I wish I had gotten pictures of her like that now!Unfortunately, the bulb didn’t last even a month before going out unexpectedly. I think if I had some reassurance that this didn’t happen often, I would be be thrilled to get another one. Currently, I just can’t really justify buying a heat bulb for a month’s use.Other than the short life of the bulb, I really liked the amount of heat it gave off, with only the dim moonlight… it also worked wonderfully as an unexpected nightlight, on her vivarium!

Long lasting!
I love these bulbs for my geckos enclosure! They last so long, amazing price compared to any others. Provide enough heat for him, but is on the cooler side

Great bulbs for heating vivariums and providing gentle moonlight
I use this particular brand bulb for my evening lighting in several vivariums, and have used them for 18 months now. Recently I had a few go out, and it wasn’t viable for me to hit the local pet store, so I grabbed them via Amazon Prime.PROS:* Great bulb for all day heat, or evening heat* Excellent gentle “moonlighting”* Quality, lasts a very long timeCONS:* Ordered a couple, had one go out within seconds for no apparent reason (I’ll bet it got knocked around in the mail). Might just pay off to order extras, you should have some on hand anyhowOTHER:* Amazon customer service is OUTSTANDING, they had a replacement bulb shipped to me the next day* When installing these I feel it’s best to leave no fingerprints or other body oils on the bulb, once it’s screwed in. So use a soft cloth to tighten it, or once it’s screwed in, wipe it cleanVIVARIUM HEATING INFO:* Remember, proper heating for your pet (air and floor temperature) can mean the difference between not just happiness and stress, but proper digestion and life in general* For many reptiles, floor temperature is most important, followed by air temperature. You’ll need to measure floor temps to make sure it’s within the proper range for your pet.* One of these bulbs sitting on top of a 20L vivarium will heat the surface of a rock, which is 6” below the bulb, to about 98*. The floor temperature will be a little less. Use under-tank heaters for best results, such as Zoo Med ReptiTherm® Under Tank Heater, Medium* Higher wattage means more output, it also means the closer an object or pet is to the bulb, the hotter it will be for them. Keep that in mind.* Make sure your bulb is sized properly for your lighting enclosure, not only physically, but for the wattage as well. You don’t want to put a 150watt bulb in a 100watt socket.

I’ve used other black heat lights but they don’t last, I’ve always has success with these too so may as well stick to what works I guess. They last at least 6 months to a year maybe longer depending

Received this item on Friday. Installed it in reptile tank Saturday. Burned out Tuesday around noon. Pricey and definitely not worth it.
