Great compost medium for Natures Head
I got these to use in a composting toilet for an RV. I appreciate the compact design for shipping and for storing it. It is a bit of a pain to break it up as it’s shipped as a stiff brick. It’s also pretty messy and coca core dust does get everywhere even in the box it’s shipped in. Works great as a compost medium though!

Great for seed starting
These coco coir bricks are perfect for my indoor seedling setup! They expand quickly with water and create a light, fluffy mix that holds moisture without getting soggy. My herbs and veggies sprouted strong and healthy. Super easy to use, and I love that theyâre organic. Definitely buying again for future plantings!

Perfect or for MicroGreens!
This is the best bang for your buck. This will give you a lot of substrate for your microgreens. The coconut coir absorbs and holds onto the water very well. The bricks are large and a little annoying to store, but you get so much that you wonât have to worry about buying more anytime soon. They helped my Microgreens grow super fast and strong.

Good product
This is a good product and is great in my seed starting mix, but I will say this is definitely more difficult to use than the ready made stuff. Thatâs kind of a given, but itâs definitely added a lot of time to my process because I donât need the whole brick. I broke off some smaller bits (difficult to do) because I really didnât want to get the whole thing wet if Iâm not using it.If you have a larger project then I donât think youâll have as much of an issue, but itâs still a chore to try to get it all to soften. Itâs not instant. Itâs a space saver though and also more cost effective.

Misleading claims, underweight, and poor quality control; not worth the extra work.
Iâve used coco coir for years, including brands like Burpee, and this is by far the most frustrating batch Iâve worked with. While it technically becomes usable after a lot of effort, I canât recommend it for several reasons:⢠Underweight: The product says each brick is 1.4 lbs, totaling 11.2 lbs for 8 bricks. Mine weighed just over 9 lbs; thatâs just about 2 lbs short.⢠Extremely slow to hydrate: Despite 100+ degree outdoor heat, soaking for 32+ hours, and regular stirring and breaking by hand, I still had rock-solid chunks the size of Oreos (maybe even a little bigger) that wouldnât break down.⢠Foreign debris: I found multiple pebbles mixed in. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely not what I expect from a gardening product labeled âorganicâ and âclean.â⢠Potentially misleading claims: The listing says âlow EC and pH balanced,â but based on the poor quality, slow hydration, and lack of buffering/rinsing instructions, I have serious doubts. I had to manually rinse and flush it like unprocessed coir, to ensure that it would be clean and safe for my plants. If youâre trying to save money and donât mind doing a lot of extra prep work, including rinsing and hand filtering, you might still get decent use out of it. But if youâre hoping for consistency, quality control, or anything close to what the label promises, Iâd look elsewhere.

Tried & Tested- ZeeDix Is The Best Hands Down!
I’ve worked with a lot of different coco coir brands over the years for my gardening and cultivation projects, and ZeeDix consistently performs better than most. The bricks hydrate quickly with minimal effort, expand to a generous volume, and have a nice fluffy texture with very little leftover sediment or heavy fibers. It’s been an essential part of my substrate mix and has helped produce excellent results. Highly recommend for anyone who needs a clean, consistent coir source!
