Christmas in October for the birds.
I would rate this 10 stars if i could !My backyard birds are nutting out on it and getting fat. It is absolutely smothered in different kinds of birds chowing down on all the delicious fresh treats this gigantic cylinder holds. The ingredients it is made of are top quality and fresh and it is holding together well. I don’t recommend anyone doing this, but my husband tasted some of the seeds and they are fresh and taste good and it smells sweet and fresh.I tried to get a good picture of all the birds on it, but everytime i get close they go. I have Downey and Northern flicker woodpeckers and Western scrubjays and all kinds of sparrows.Only 2 things to keep in mind, it does not include a hanger, it was easy to make one for mine by using a old barbecue skewer that i bent near the end. You could actually use some rope and a branch to make a perch at the bottom and i reccomend opening it outside as i had a little loose seed mess on my kitchen counter.Other than that, it is a great item and it’s made in the USA!I reccomend this item and am going to buy one when this one is gone to help them through the winter.

Jam packed alternative to suet.
We feed lots of birds at our house. And this cylinder is packed full of nuts and seeds and fruit. I confess I did t have the appropriate feeder to put it on but we made it work. It took a few days but the cardinals and chickadees shave found it and are enjoying eating from it. I like this better than traditional suet because it was less messy and will probably sustain the birds for longer. I havenât seen any woodpeckers yet but I think it is the wrong season for the red bellied ones at the moment. Overall I really like this feeder cake. I plan to look into the right feeder and purchase another one.

Great Quality Bird Seed Bar
This is a great quality bird seed bar.You can see in a picture. There’s a lot of different variety of nuts and seeds.Makes it a great addition to my wild bird buffet out there. The only thing is you need to have to special feeder with the pole in the middle, in order to use these. If not, then you can easily just put the cakes onto like little platforms and stuff like that. And then they eat them that way as well. The birds seem to really enjoy it.And it’s good quality ingredients overall very pleased with this. And it’s a great quality for the money.

This fits my feeder but has more seed packed in, meaning it may last longer
This is a confusing product, but my downy woodpeckers seem as happy with it as with what they’d been using. It is the same diameter — 4 inches — and height — 7.5 inches — as the suet cylinders I’ve been using. What is confusing is that the listing says it’s 2 lbs., while the package says 1.5 lbs. So I weighed it, on two good scales, and the actual weight is 1s 1111 g or 2.45 lbs. The suet cylinders I’ve been using weigh 2 lbs and the cost per pound comes out somewhat better for them than for these. However, the labels have this cylinder as containing somewhat higher percentages of protein, fat and fiber. And the ingredients are quite different.

Bird Seed Cylinder chock full of Sunflower, Peanuts & Suet
This blend has drawn more woodpeckers than I’ve ever seen, as well as blue jays and cardinals. The peanuts and suet add high-energy food they need, especially during colder months.I’m a big fan of these cylinder form seeds, they make less waste, need fewer refills, and make way less mess than loose seed. It fits perfectly on my standard seed cylinder feeder. The block stays intact even through a rain storm.Seems to be made from quality ingredients, no filler, no corn, just the stuff birds will actually eat. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to see more activity and variety at their feeder.

A convenient, nutritious offering for the birds in your yard!
This bird seed cylinder is packed with great stuff that your local birds will really enjoy, including nuts, seeds, fruits and suet. It is firmly packed with no loose bits at the bottom of the packaging at all. It’s quite large, too, measuring eight inches tall and 4 inches in diameter, there’s a lot of food here for the money. The cylinder is designed to be placed on a cylinder holder that has a spike down the center, but you could easily devise your own way to hang it. It could also be placed on a platform feeder. It is so much fun to watch the birds enjoy these cylinders, knowing they are getting the extras they need to help them thrive especially during the cold winter months. Highly recommended!

My new go-to bird seed
I’ve been feeding birds for years and I am done with bulky, messy bags of seed. $24 seems like a lot for a seed cylinder but it is made with quality ingredients and lasts so much longer than a tube of loose seed so I consider it excellent value for money. There’s no mess under my feeder either. All kinds of birds seem to approve of this seed – this morning the Carolina Chickadees and Northern Cardinals are enjoying it. Other times I have jays, titmice, nuthatches, wrens, woodpeckers. Can be used with a couple different styles of feeder – mine has a cage, but the cylinder has a hole in the center and can be used with a post and tray style feeder too. Made in the USA.

Perfect for bird watching
This is a thick and heavy block of bird seed! Iâm impressed just how big it is. After removing the plastic I was pleased to find that most of the seed stayed stuck to the log and hadnât crumbled off. It has been picked almost halfway clean so far after setting it outside, so I know the birds love it (not just woodpeckers although there have been a few more than normal). It has a hollow middle so you can tie it up or set it on something, but it doesnât come with a string or anything to hang it with – youâll need to figure that out on your own. I do appreciate the quality of the seed that it seems to be though.
