The Bird Buffet That Turned My Yard Into Times Square
I never thought Iâd become âthat personââyou know, the one who buys bird food in bulk and starts identifying cardinals by name like theyâre part of the family. Yet here I am, with a 20-pound bag of Wagnerâs Wild Bird Food and a yard that now resembles a feathery version of Grand Central Station at rush hour.Let me tell you: this stuff is basically five-star dining for birds.⸻The DeliveryWhen the 20-pound bag arrived, I thought, âThis is too much bird food. Thereâs no way Iâll get through it.â Oh, how naive I was. I scooped some into the feeder, set it outside, and within ten minutes, my backyard transformed into the avian equivalent of a Las Vegas buffet.Birds Iâd never seen before suddenly appeared. Sparrows, finches, cardinals, blue jaysâbasically every feathered creature within a five-mile radius got the memo. I half-expected an eagle to swoop down with a reservation slip.⸻The Bird ReactionsI imagine the conversation among the birds went something like this:⢠Cardinal #1: âHey, whereâd you get the fresh seeds?â⢠Cardinal #2: âWagnerâs, baby. Only the best.â⢠Blue Jay: âStep aside, peasants. Iâm here for the sunflower seeds.â⢠Tiny Sparrow: [drowned out by chaos]The feeding frenzy was so intense that I started considering whether I needed to put out numbered tickets like a deli counter.⸻QualityThe seed itself looks⦠well, like bird food. But the birds know. You canât fool them. Iâve put out generic bargain-bin seed before, and the birds treated it like an awkward salad at a potluckâpicked at it, looked around disappointed, then flew off to my neighborâs house. With Wagnerâs? Clean bowls every time. They eat it like itâs their last meal on earth. Even the squirrels are impressed, which, admittedly, is not a plus. Iâve seen one squirrel make off with a literal handful, looking smug, like he just robbed Fort Knox.⸻The ChaosHereâs the thing no one tells you: once you put out Wagnerâs, you no longer control your backyard. The birds do. Morning coffee on the porch? Forget it. The second you step outside, they stare at you like a mob boss demanding tribute.I once dared to let the feeder run empty for a day. Big mistake. The birds assembled on the fence in a perfectly organized row, glaring at me like tiny feathered debt collectors. Iâm 90% sure one crow tapped a wing against its throat in a âpay upâ gesture.⸻The Unexpected Side Effects1. Free Entertainment: Netflix? Overrated. Watching a woodpecker try to squeeze onto a feeder built for finches? Priceless.2. New Alarm Clock: Birds donât care about weekends. They will sing the âfeed meâ song at 6:30 AM sharp.3. Neighborhood Fame: My neighbor asked why all the birds hang out in my yard now. I told him I run the hottest bird bistro in town. He hasnât spoken to me since.⸻The Weight of ResponsibilityBuying 20 pounds of bird food is like signing a long-term contract. Youâre not just feeding birdsâyouâre becoming part of their daily routine. If you think you can just âstop anytime,â think again. Birds are creatures of habit, and Wagnerâs turns them into loyal, demanding customers. One chickadee actually followed me to my car one morning, as if to say, âHey, donât forget to refill the feeder before you leave, pal.â⸻Price vs. ValueYes, itâs a big bag. Yes, it feels like overkill at first. But once you see the joy of a cardinal strutting around like it owns the place, youâll realize itâs worth every penny. Plus, youâll feel like a benevolent monarch, graciously providing sustenance to your tiny winged subjects. And honestly? Compared to other hobbies, itâs cheap. Golf costs more. Streaming services cost more. Therapy costs more. Watching chickadees fight over sunflower seeds while you sip coffee? Thatâs therapy you get for free with every scoop.⸻The Lemon TestOkay, this product doesnât actually smell like lemons (looking at you, dishwasher cleaner), but I conducted my own test: left the feeder out for 48 hours with Wagnerâs vs. a feeder with cheap seed. Result? The bargain feeder was untouched, like a sad buffet of wilted lettuce. The Wagnerâs feeder was picked so clean I could practically see my reflection in the bottom. Case closed.⸻Final VerdictWagnerâs Wild Bird Food doesnât just feed birds. It summons them. It turns your backyard into a feathery social club where everyoneâs invitedâexcept you, because youâre just the staff now. Itâs high-quality, lasts a surprisingly long time (unless the squirrels unionize), and makes you feel like Snow White, if Snow White also had to clean sunflower shells off the porch every day.⸻Final Score: âââââ (5 stars)⢠Quality: Excellent.⢠Bird Approval: Unanimous.⢠Squirrel Approval: Unfortunately, also unanimous.⢠Human Entertainment Value: Off the charts.⢠Downside: You now work for the birds.

Bird food
The birds seem to like it. So if the birds are happy, I’m happy. It was priced pretty decently.

Bright birds love it!
So we actually run two identical bird feeders we even use the exact same bird cakes in each bird feeder The only difference is the feed we put in The middle part of each one. This feed seems to draw smaller birds more often, Bright yellow, bright orange and a lot of chickadees and finches. I really enjoy this mix I would consider this a high quality, cleaner, bird loving food. The birds cannot seem to get enough of it

sweet cherry
A delightful blend that birds can’t resist, with the sweet cherry scent being a big hit. My feathered friends seem to be loving it, and it’s a great value for a 20-pound bag.

Attracts All Kinds of Birds
This wild bird food with cherry flavor has been a hit in my backyard. The 20-pound bag lasts a while, and I’ve noticed more variety of birds showing up since I started using it – cardinals, finches, you name it. It doesn’t make a mess like some mixes, and the seeds seem fresh with no dust. Great value for keeping the feeders full without breaking the bank – definitely plan to reorder.

Bougie birds
I like the price on the the Bird food, but the Bird’s became to pick so. I catered to the birds and gave them the old bird seed. Overall good price and good product

Meh
It seems to be well-liked food. My problem is the common grackles monopolize the feeder with this food. They are aggressive and often come in pairs running off any and all other birds. I am going to mix some safflower feed in to see if I canât deter these birds because they are truly a nuisance. You will notice from my photos that I had way more visits (42) today, so far, from grackles as any other bird (all the rest under 5).

Disappears from the feeder very quickly now.A couple months have gone by since I had this food out in the feeder. I only had one or two birds around (I never had a feeder or anything like that). At first I didn’t think it was good feed, but I guess it took them a while to find the feeder. Over two months it only went down by half.In the past week the amount of food in my feeder dropped by a quarter!! and is steadily and noticeably going down! The tree this food is hanging in always has a bunch of birds in it.I have a “Squirrel Buster Plus Green – Part #: 1024”, which also works really well.Great feed. I spilled some on the side walk by accident putting the feed bag away and it was gone the next day. Every piece. This review is coming from the Northern West part of Canada, in case people need to know the kinds of birds. I have no clue what types are out there perched, chowing down. Chicka-dee’s and finches, maybe? I dunno. I’m not an enough of a bird person to know, but it’s nice having them around.
