They Break Super Fast
I ordered a two pack of these for my hermit crab tank and they died the second time I turned them on. The ratings for these were good, so I assumed it was a bad batch and ordered a replacement pack but now I’ve run into the exact same issue with these – they die nearly instantly. The light fixture I use is rated for much higher wattage than these and doesn’t have issues with other bulbs, so I can only assume it’s these bulbs being low quality that’s causing them to break.

I have a bearded lizard named, âGodzilla.â It is absolutely vital that he is in a heated environment since he is cold blooded. That said, caution must be considered since obviously, too much heat can be fatal. These bulbs emit considerable heat. They are purple in color and not so bright as to be annoying. I cannot comment on the lifespan since I received the bulbs recently. Getting two bulbs instead of one is great value for money. Be sure not to use both bulbs simultaneously in a small to medium lizard container as there would be no space for the lizard to escape to in order to avoid overheating, leading to death. It was difficult to determine the proper distance from the bulb to the lizard habitat for warming safely and to be beneficial for Godzilla. . The bulbs are as large as they appear on the Amazon website. This size may make it difficult to find an appropriate bendable lamp base to house the bulb. Also, in line with the size of the bulb, it is not especially aesthetically pleasing to the eye. One very important warning. This bulbs become very hot. (Of course that would be expected because they are heating lamps!) If you are like me, I not only provide some water for my Godzilla to drink, but mist him because he loves to be misted. Be very, very careful if and when you do mist because any water landing upon the heated the lamp bulb could cause it to violently explode.

Not as bright as I had hoped and gets really hot
Bob’s are not as bright as I hope they were. They do work as intended. My bigger issue even at 6 in from the glass top of the cage they get too hot and cracked the quarter inch glass. Ended up swapping out for some LED bulbs that don’t produce the heat.

Burns out too quickly
These bulbs all burned out after three weeks, and one came not working. Really, a bulb should last longer than these did. Replacing bulbs every two to three weeks becomes very expensive very fast, and is a pain in the neck when it burns out in the middle of the day when you have a thousand and one irons in the fire. This company will need better quality control before I buy from them again.
