High Output UVB Lamp – The 13W UVB lamp is specially designed for desert-dwelling reptiles (such as bearded dragons, geckos, and snakes), providing high output UVB to help enhance the synthesis of vitamin D3, promote calcium absorption, and support healthy bone development.
Desert Habitat Lighting – Simulates the intense sunlight of arid environments, promoting natural sunbathing behavior in reptiles, enhancing appetite, digestion, and natural activity, while helping to boost immunity and maintain healthy metabolic functions.
Compact and Efficient Design – The compact design is ideal for small to medium-sized reptile tanks, saving space while ensuring your pet receives the necessary light to meet its daily health needs.
High Brightness and High Color Rendering Index – Brighter than standard reptile lamps, with a color rendering index of up to 90%, accurately replicating the natural colors of reptiles, enhancing visual comfort, and bringing out their natural beauty.
High Quality – Made with special quartz glass tubes and durable electronic chips to ensure stable current input, providing consistent UVB output and low fading. Completely free of harmful UVC, with a long lifespan of up to 8,000 hours.

So far, so good
*This 10.0 is for desert reptiles, so please make sure it’s right for your specific animal. One of the item images shows suggested animals, but they have a picture of a rattlesnake that’s labeled “ball python.” BPs are not desert-dwelling snakes, so this 10.0 UVB would not be suitable for them. BPs require the 5.0 “rainforest”/”forest” one.*I’ve heard that these coil-bulbs aren’t as good as the T5 tube-type bulbs for UVB distribution for reptiles, and therefore they’re not really recommended. However, what I’d been using for my new California Kingsnake was an LED-UVB, which is apparently a whole lot worse for them. So when I saw this one, I figured I’d give it a shot, because it should at least be better than the current LED light he’s got. (He was a last-minute foster-turned-adoption, so I was playing catch-up with the required lighting needs.)Of course a day or two after ordering this one, I ended up finding a T5 fixture with the dimensions I needed, so I’m planning on using this coil-bulb in the meantime until the T5 fixture arrives. So far, it’s an incredible difference from the LED-UVB disc-type light I’d been using. This one is a lot brighter, but a more white-blue than I’d anticipated (although part of that might be due to the blue lid on his enclosure…).Unfortunately I don’t currently have one of those fancy UV-meters that checks that amount of UVA/B emitted, so hopefully another reviewer can touch on the specs of this one.Overall, though, even though it’s a not-really-recommended coil-bulb, I think it’s a lot better/safer than the LED ones, though it’s still not as good/ideal/recommended as the T5 fixtures. I’m not sure yet when the T5 one will arrive, but I’m planning on using this one until then, and then holding onto it just in case I need it again for some reason.Either way, though, these UVB lights are recommended to be replaced somewhat frequently. I think the general consensus is about every six months, but if I remember correctly, I think the box this light came in said to replace it after three months.
