Only for aquariums! Not for reptile enclosures.
I originally ordered this to put in my crested geckoâs enclosure, I know it says aquarium, but Iâve ordered other caves that are identical to this one, and they are all marketed towards reptiles. But, the magnets on the 2 I ordered from other vendors both had weak magnets, and the cave would immediately crash into the substrate. This one said âUpgraded magnetâ, so I figured it would work on my glass enclosure. Nope. This one, while the quality and workmanship overall is much much better than the previous two, the magnets were still too weak in my zoomed skyscraper (18x18x36 high). It does, however stay up on my thin grow out acrylic enclosure (see photo), but the acrylic on this enclosure is very very thin, like 1/8â thick, if that. But then, I figured I should try it in an aquarium to provide better insight into the magnet mystery. IT STAYS UP IN AQUARIUMS. Shaking my head over this. I canât use it in my aquarium, since itâs home to only a turtle, and she canât fit into that.Itâs staying in my crested geckoâs grow out enclosure since it works in there. After that, I may try to DIY a solution to gluing a stronger magnet on maybe. Or maybe I’ll decide to start a new aquarium by then, who knows.Overall, while it was a fail for my crested gecko’s enclosure, itâs a winner for aquariums! Totally worth the price for what it is, and the quality and workmanship far surpasses other caves Iâve gotten that look almost identical. Recommend.

Will not hold on the glass , slips down.
The magnet is not holding it on glass, slides down. Should have had two or three magnets. After 10 days there is rust on the glass and around the magnet. 90 gal. tank. I wouldn’t recommend any one buying this product. Maybe the glass is thinner on a smaller tank and it will hold better. Bought a log that has two magnets and it holds just fine, no rust.

Great cave for fish
Very natural looking in my river-bottom tank of fish and shrimp. The cave attaches easily via magnet and so far has been a welcome hiding spot for my shrimp, snails, and birthing fish. The cost of this was so good when priced against local offerings.

This hide is a decent size and the magnet holds pretty well on my thin terrarium glass. You do have to put it on the ground level as it will fall if you remove the outer lid. I like how the lid can swivel to take a peek and swivel back down into place. We have a leopard gecko and it is perfect for him to sleep in, he feels secure and protected inside.I know this says for fish but I found it better suited to terrarium use as the glass is usually thinner and holds the lid on better. Also not sure what it is painted with and don’t want to risk anything leaching into the water either so we are using it dry instead.

This magnetic aquarium cave is a clever way to give fish a hideout thatâs easy to clean or reposition. The resin feels smooth and non-toxic, with no sharp edges to worry about. The magnets hold firmly through standard glass â perfect for guppies, shrimp, or fry. One minor flaw: if you have thicker glass (over 8mm), the connection weakens slightly. The detachable design makes checking inside effortless, ideal for breeding setups or cleaning algae. Looks natural enough underwater and adds a sense of realism to the tank. A thoughtful, well-executed idea for small to medium aquariums.
