Customers say

Customers find the water pump to be well-made, quiet, and good value for money, with one customer noting it comes with different size valves. However, the pump’s functionality and power receive mixed reviews – while some report it works well and is powerful, others say it stopped working completely and doesn’t pump much water. Moreover, the lifespan is concerning, with multiple customers reporting it only lasted two months or broke after a week.

Works for me. My review with pics, measurements and additional nozzle size solution!
Upettools model A-1500, 40W, 1500 L/H. The printing on the box has both the brand Upettools AND Boxtech, and the label on the top of the pump itself says “Boxtech.” It seems to be a clone/knockoff of a more prominent brand, but that being said, and having only used it once so far, it seems a decent functional pump of good value. However, since quality control is always the issue with these items, you might end up with a perfect pump, or one that’s got problems. The quality control issue (slight defect) on my particular pump is:The female threaded discharge opening (into which the nozzles screw,) protrudes unevenly from the green case, which might prevent the nozzles screwing down sufficiently to be fully sealed. The pump and nozzles do not include any kind of rubber washer or gasket, so if there’s a gap, it’s not going to be sealed 100%. This does not impact me because I’m using a different solution for my nozzle:This 40W pump comes with 19mm, 22mm, and 25mm nozzles, but I needed a smaller, 13mm (1/2”) nozzle barb (which does come with their smaller, 25W version of this pump.) Luckily, I found a compatible “nozzle” very inexpensively, under a dollar, here in USA, at the major home improvement stores: Rain Bird brand sprinkler system has an adapter part with compatible male thread size and 1/2 inch nozzle barb. On Amazon, the part is https://www.amazon.com/Rain-Bird-SWGA050-Coupler-Fitting/dp/B000DCN8MCTechnically the thread is a tiny bit wider (0.5mm) than the included nozzles, but it screws down into the discharge opening perfectly. BUT because it does not have a lip, I’m using an appropriately sized rubber washer that seals the bottom of the adapter to the bottom of the discharge spout. The thread size of the nozzles the come with pump are 20mm (which basically matches a North American 1/2 inch “MPT” (male pipe thread) well enough.OPERATION: The pump operates just fine, is rather quiet, seems to have really good water flow. I’m not using it with the rubber suction cup feet, so I can’t comment on how well they work under water, but sticking them onto a dry surface by themselves, they seem to work great. (Bear in mind the stated 0.39″ minimum level of water down to which the pump can drain is the level without using the suction cups. Uncompressed, the suction cups add about 8.8mm (0.35”) to the bottom of the pump. Fully compressed, they add about 3.7mm (0.15”) to the bottom.LASTLY:1) Some reviewers of this pump and others mentioned the lack of electrical grounding in pumps they received. The AC plug on this pump has a grounded prong, but I have not disassembled the pump to check whether it actually is correctly connected and grounded to the pump inside.2) If new, the pump should be in a plastic bag, with a separate, sealed plastic bag for the nozzles and suction feet. I mention this because earlier attempts to purchase a different brand pump on Amazon led to me being sent a clearly used pump which was missing parts, and did not include plastic bags. So if you receive a pump without plastic bags, it’s *not* new. Hope this helps!

Most important things to know about this pump
I wanted to love this pump because of the reviews if you read the instructions number one it says you shouldn’t run it dry you can overheat and do damage to the motor but that’s not what they say when you purchased it also it will not prime with the power on so if the pumps going in the water starts filling up it doesn’t prime until it’s almost at the top of the pump and even when it is working it’s much higher than the level shown on the picture it’s almost to the starting of the blue when he gets thinner on the side of the pump I love this poppet is quiet and it does pump very powerful but it’s not exactly what I said in the in the advertisement

Too weak to lift water even 6″
I bought it “new” but the package arrived with the connectors already ripped open so it seems like they sent a used one to me. If you’re looking to hook it up to pump liquid through a hose then look elsewhere. I was able to get it to work by plugging the connector into it while it was already pumping water but after unplugging it and plugging it back in it couldn’t lift the water even 6″, when I tried the initial way again I discovered that it worked just as well after being unplugged, the only thing the pump was actually doing was getting a little pressure in the line and siphon action took over from there.

    Low head applications only
Cute little pump, nice volume, would be nice for an aquarium or tabletop display, but will only lift less than two feet, not the claimed 6.8 feet. I returned mine.

    Weak pump….
I got the 5W pump. It barely moves water 1 foot above the water line. It stops and its not due to water level or over heating. I have to pull out out, give it a hard tap and it sometimes restarts. It will eventuallyStop pumping. I guess it’s Ok to pump water out of a fish tank and the bucket is on the floor. Not recommended for pumping to bucket above the water line.

As President of a manufacturing company, we employ many machines. One machine in question is a shaker. This shaker has stones in it and when you place metal parts in the shaker, the vibration of the stones takes off sharp edges from the machining process off…..called a burr. Well in the sump of this shaker lies a pump to circulate water amongst the stones to evacuate the tiny residual metal debris. The original pump blew on the shaker and when I inquired about buying OEM it was a couple of hundred dollars.I found this pump on amazon at considerably less. Will it last as long as the OEM? Probably not but a 10% of the price, we can afford to buy 9 more.
