Product description

Safe Starter Helmet: Whether it’s for riding lessons, camp packages or trail riding, TuffRider’s starter helmet is the perfect choice as a comfortable and safe helmet, having ranked #2 overall in the helmet study.
Two Layers Of Protection: The hard ABS matte outer shell provides protection against impacts, while the EPS inner layer further absorbs the impact force. The stainless steel mesh on the ventilation openings add further strength to the helmet.
Certified For Safety: A helmet’s job is to protect you, so our helmets are independently certified by the SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) to the ASTM F1163-23 standard for horse riding gear, a certification that includes impact tests.
Fits Snugly & Comfortably: Thanks to the comfortable nylon reinforced harness and the adjustable padded chin strap, this equestrian helmet achieves a solid and safe fit while being comfortable to wear even on long rides.
Lightweight & Fresh: Three large ventilation openings create air flow, keeping you fresh during a long day of riding, while the washable Coolmax liner wicks away the sweat, keeping you safe without discomfort.
Customers say
Customers find the riding helmet to be of good quality, with one noting it’s perfect for everyday use, and they appreciate its high safety rating and comfort. The helmet receives positive feedback for its style and value for money, with one customer mentioning it touches the head all the way around. While some customers find it lightweight, others say it’s heavier, and opinions about the dial adjustment mechanism are mixed.

Great helmet!
This helmet is looks nice and stylish and is flattering to my skull shape, it is VERY highly safety rated, and it is also very comfortable. People who are saying the helmet is too small maybe donât understand how helmets are supposed to fit. I wear the same size as well in other helmets. This has a more snug fit than some but it isnât tight. It just feels secure. In the event of an emergency, I feel confident this would not slip and slide Ike some of the more seemingly secure but more loosely fitted helmets would perform. Lots of padding. Nice vents. Very comfortable and feels light yet substantial.

Great quality helmet
I bought this helmet because it is really highly rated. It fits great and seems like a great quality. I’ve been using it for the past 2 years.

High safety rating at a great price!
This helmet is very comfortable and stylish. Itâs also rated very highly on the Virginia Tech Equestrian Helmet ratings. Most of the other helmets in the top 5 are 2-4x the cost of this TuffRider.

Safe helmet
I have to say that this carbon fiber helmet saved me! I was bucked off my horse and landed pretty hard breaking a rib and 1 vertebrae. I also hit my head and was knocked out briefly. That helmet did not have a scratch on it and no cracks from the hard landing. I’m so glad I had that helmet on. It may have saved me from some really bad head injuries.

Very happy with fit
Super pleased with this helmet. I have a slightly oval shaped head making helmet fitting difficult. This helmet touches my head all the way around. It looks nice as well. Only thing would be nice if extra padding was included.

Weâll Build, Butâ¦..
I wear a 7 3/8 hat size and ordered the largest size. It barely fits fully extended, but Iâd like another click or two. Also, feels much heavier than others Iâve had.The weight may be a feature of being better built, but it needs room for larger heads.I started with a Troxel hat that was very comfy and lightweight. Problem is, it rated last with 0 start in Virginia Techâs helmet study. This one is in the top five although they jacked the price after the study came out.I plan to keep it.

Best Helmet on the Market
This is the only helmet my daughter will use. We’ve had expensive CO helmets but this one is much more comfortable. It’s also rated one of the best overall helmets in the VA Tech equestrian helmet crash test study. Looks great for schooling and for shows. We’re on our second one after my daughter took a spill over a fence at a show last year. She was fine…the helmet did it’s job! Not even as much as a headache.
