    Only 1 gripe
I’m a novice pond keeper and it seems like I’ve got a Murphy’s law situation because almost everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong. From liner problems to water quality issues, filter boxes, to struggling to finding a way to safely power all my bells and whistles while hiding the eyesores. Needless to say, I had absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into 😂 I ordered this dye strictly fr looks not realizing all the other benefits of using it. I have decided that dye is a must have for both looks and function. But of course the cash register goes wild as soon as fishpond is mentioned and EVERYTHING is expensive. But I’m cheap and ive diy’d most everything and had good success with most projects 😂. This dye has absolutely made my pond the most beautiful part of my yard. Caught it on sale and ordered multiple bottles. But due to some of the problems listed above I need to order a couple more. This stuff lasts forever! My only complaint **LOOK MANUFACTURER**. is that it needs to come in some different colors! For the price point and quality, adding different colors would forever create job security for this brand!

    It’s long lasting color
This stuff is absolutely amazing. The blue color is so strong that it only takes drops for my fountain. It really helps with algae, and it doesn’t fade like other blue coloring does. It lasts a long, long time.We love it in our bird baths as well.

Pond Blue Water Tint – creates beautiful blue water effect
Dislkes: NONELikes: How it colors the water blue, is NON-Toxic to pets and fish, so if an animal drinks from a fountain using this item, they won’t get sick from it. My cats drink out of my fountains all the time, never an issue.See video above with the Pond Blue water tint in use in my small fountain. Since I can only post one video, I included a still photo of my larger fountain with the water also tinted blue., as well as the smaller fountain.Definitely can recommend this product, especially if you like the calming blue water effect, helps improve seeing the waterfalls in action, as opposed to the natural clear water. Especially if the fountain has lights in it, then the effect is even more stunning at night. Sorry, I don’t have any night photos, will update and add those later.

    Product could be better
I am giving this product 3 stars because of the potential for it to be a better product. I bought it for my ponds to help keep the algae growth to a minimum. Unfortunately it didn’t help this problem at all, but I believe it could if the pigment didn’t settle to the bottom of the pond. A product like this should actually mix with water and as long as that water is constantly moving and being mixed up should keep it mixed, but it doesn’t. It does change the color to a nice blue of your liking, but it only continues to look blue because the pigment is shining through the clear water after a few hours. TotalPond needs to come up with this product in a soluble pigment that mixes with water and not just sink to the bottom.Pros: color and potential to perform like it shouldCons: doesn’t stay mixed with water, stains anything it comes in contact with, and doesn’t prevent algae growth

    No More Algae Blues
Purchased this because I had a serious algae problem in my new water fountain. Who knew fountains do better in shade gardens?!? Well whoever knew didn’t tell me because I placed my fountain in direct/full sun. Any-who, after countless unsuccessful attempts and products to combat the algae problem I came across this product and figured I’d give it a try. I was very apprehensive about the possibility of this staining my concrete fountain, but so far so good. I followed the instructions letter to the law and was extremely careful not to spill it anywhere. That’s probably the hardest part. Now it’s taken me a while to get used to the color, but it’s growing on me and more importantly, it’s drastically reduced the amount of algae. In all fairness I initially used this in combination with 2 algae products. However, the 2nd week I didn’t add the algae products and it’s seems the algae increased just a tad bit. The water is still clear, but I’m starting to see a little more debris. With that said, I’ll be using all 3 collectively because in unison they made a major difference; and even with just TotalPond Blue alone I’m pleased.

    Warning!
I cleaned out my pond after 10 years and restarted it with sparkling clean water (I have no fish). It was beautiful. As it’s hot in Texas, I got this to help control algae that would surely take over very soon. It turned a beautiful blue color. For about an hour. Then everything turned into dark green goo!!!!! I have exchanged 1/2 of those 1000 gallons the next day, NO CHANGE AT ALL! I have been doing partial water changes every day, hoping to thin it out. NOTHING! I am now looking at completely draining the pond again and starting over, wasted 2-3000 gallons of water!
