Lots to point out. First Iâm keeping it. I had it professionally built because there were some tiny issues that a novice may have trouble navigating. I am that novice. Itâs more rustic in color than expected. Not a big deal. It had a terribly annoying smell at first. I wiped it down with a reptile safe solution I got from my vet. It eventually went away. Please donât use any standard house cleaning chemicals as wood is porous and not safe for your animal. Some of the wood did crack and not every piece was flush. I had my builder use aquarium safe silicone to seal the cracks and waited 3 days before putting my tortoise in it. Again it has to be animal safe aquarium silicone. Donât use standard caulking. Lastly the pieces were numbered to build and they are painted on with blue paint. Now I have random blue numbers visible. Why wouldnât they use something removable for that? Thatâs my story. My little guy is in his house and enjoying the added space this habitat provides. Is it perfect, no, but itâs the best one I have been able to find that didnât have reviews that immediately scared me. I hope this information helps your decision to provide your pet the best possible home.
