US military armorers called on Tipton to provide cleaning rods that would clean service rifles in demanding conditions. Carbon fiber is well-suited to the tough tasks assigned to cleaning rods. It combines the best features of stainless steel and coated cleaning rods, then adds valuable properties of its own. Carbon fiber can’t scratch your bore like stainless steel and won’t embed like coated rods. Carbon fiber rods can be bent to an extreme degree and return to their original straightness. These cleaning rods are “deluxe” because they feature an ergonomically designed handle that spins on two sets of ball bearings – the result is a cleaning rod that smoothly follows the rifling both pushing and pulling, even while under pressure. The “shank-through” construction also allows the user to apply “reasonable” hammer blows to the end of the cleaning rod to get a tight patch through a bore.

Really Great Cleaning Rod, Well Worth the Little Bit Extra Cash You Pay!!
I got this particular size because I figured I could use it with almost any caliber(excluding anything smaller than a .22). Boy was I right, I use it on .22LR, .30-06, 5.56x45mm/.223 Rem., and 7.62x54R (No the R does not stand for Russian for those of you out there that don’t know, the cartridge has R at the end because it is a rimmed cartridge, look it up). The rod is very strong and durable. It flexes but not overly, and the handle…oh boy do those bearings in the handle turn smoothly. Stop wasting your money on aluminum, steel, wood, or coated rods and spend just a little more cash and get this rod. This rod is strong, has no joints in the middle to break, won’t damage your firearm even if your don’t use a boreguide, doesn’t embed like coated rods, and it isn’t damaged by cleaning solvents or gun oils. Trust me it is well worth it, I don’t know how many of the cheaper rods I’ve broken or bent out of shape simply cleaning a firearm. This rod will last a very long time and serve you well. Oh and if you want a really great cleaning set up, get the Tipton combo cleaning jag and best bore brush set to go with the rod. Talk about awesome!

Great Product
After trying to clean on the cheap for years I moved into purchasing better rods gradually. This rod is probably the best one yet.The Carbon Fiber won’t damage the barrel. The rod’s very robust in strength, but it gives without the chance of bending the rod.I should use a bore guide too, but at least you don’t have to worry about the roddamaging the bore, although keeping it straight in the bore is probably just as important–even with a carbon fiber rod. Trying not to go completely OCD. I fired thousands of roundsout of an M16 that was already old when I got it in the Army and cleaned it using cheap disposable rods–it fired sub moa on a good day at three hundred meters–all day at 100m. Maybe that was all the chromebore–I’m not a gunsmith. Not sure how much force it would take to break the rod–I’ll try not to find out,but I wouldn’t worry too much about snapping it–robust is an accurate description. The handle is robust as well, feels solid and heavy in a good way, and it spins like it’srolling on precision bearings.I’m also not sure how long the threads for the jags and brushes will last. Connectingfiber to brass or other metals is always a concern. The piece that holds the jags and brushes issolid brass–which I like. Coating similar to their coated jags might provide a slightimprovement to an already great design. My only complaint might be the lack of choices in the actual length of the rod.I didn’t check other sites prior to ordering.I know I have a couple of applications for which this rod will probably be too short, but I got tired of measuring and shopping.

Nice Rod
Functions well, handle spins with smooth action, shaft fits perfectly in 22 caliber barrel. Accepts standard thread brushes and jags. 36″ length works nicely through the breech on a bolt action. Would recommend.
Jason M. Larson –
Great.
High quality bearings ensure no scuffing of rifling.

Very Good rod, particularly when mating with Tipton attachments
Very good rod. Unlike some lots of other brands, the connection between the rod and the matching, Tipton brushes and jags mate perfectly with a smooth edge free junction. The only reason the rod didn’t receiver 5 stars is because the carbon fiber rod bows more than I like during use, particularly when using bore mops.

Good carbon fiber cleaning rod you can trust.
One of my favorite YouTube X-Ring is using this rod, so I want to give it a shot.Works perfectly on my cz457 .22lr rifle. Cz457 MTR chamber is picky, some of the .22 rod doesn’t work but this rod works like a charm OUT OF THE BOX. The carbon fiber rod wont leave any mark or damage to your charmer and rifling not like the Real Avid rod i was using. I trashed my old rod immediately. Sorry, RA, I found a better rod.

De momento la he usado dos veces solo, pero da la sensación de resistencia y robustez, ademas al ser en una sola pieza evitas el roce en el cañon de las juntas de las que van engarzadas
