James Herriot has done it again. I have a great respect for James and his ability to recognize and describe the unique characters that he encountered in his life as a country vet. He had a knack for appreciating the small, almost insignificant details that make a person truly memorable: a loud laugh, a silly hobby, an intense stubbornness. James Herriot has a way of making you feel like you are sitting in his living room having a wonderful time listening to the many and varied stories of his life as a country vet.
