Happy Fish, Happy Fish Mom
My tank looks great! My baby fish are happy! The lighting is perfect! Cost more than those submersible blinding lights, but the result is so much better! Worth the price! Good fit and great extras included.
Lid worked great. Actually returned one from local pet store. I wasnât sure how this lid was gonna work/fit but ended up being super easy. Lid had multiple fit attachments, cut outs for things like filters/heaters, and clips for different types of tank tops. And, the attachment to make the lid on hinges is perfect, our smaller tank didnât have that and I was always knocking the lid over when cleaning the tank. The light provided was really bright, ended up using our old ones.

This hood is a good value. It was easy to put together. The lights are great for my 10 gallon tank. I think the lid looks great on my tank. I like the fact that when I clean my tank I can see into the tank so much easier.I also like the opening to feed my fish, it doesnât get clogged with old fish food.The lid is lite but seems durable.I like that it lifts straight up , although it doesnât stay up on its own so when I had to put water in the tank someone had to hold it open for me.I would recommend this lid, my fish are happy.

Cheap quality compared to the tank
As other reviewer have said, it does fit my tetra tank perfectly size wise, so it felt like my only choice from the same manufacturer as the tank.The material of the hood is very cheaply built. It’s flimsy, and the tank cover was already warped so it doesn’t sit flat on the tank. I was disappointed that the hood costs half again as much as the tank — I would have been okay with this if the material quality matched my expectations, or maybe okay if the hood was priced about half what it is here. While the tank seems like it has good quality materials, this hood feels like very cheap, thin materials, so as a consumer I get the feeling like maybe Tetra was using a pricing strategy rather than trying to give me the best quality.The cutouts only have a few choices, so in order to get the filter in the right spat, I had to cut out the larger cutout than I wanted, then I taped part of it back on to increase the coverage, which means you can see tape on my tank hood — not a good look.I also found the wire length to the light switch seems very short. My only option is for the light switch to be behind the tank, which is far from convenient and requires me bending down and under the table to switch it on or off. This also felt cheap to me, especially considering that the rest of the power cable is much longer.I plan to eventually buy another hood from another manufacturer instead.

An absolutely perfect product. Fit is perfect, looks great! The hinges clip on to the frame and allow you to lift them to clean etc. I like the way the lights mount on a 45° angle along the front lip. I used two kits on our 55 gallon tank.

Cheap design for the price but works
From the photos I expected a more sturdy lid. It arrived flimsy and feels like thin plastic. It’s easy to use and will keep the cat out and the fish in. The design makes it easy for anyone needing cut outs for filters and such. Instructions weren’t the best on how to install the lights, so ended up using electric tape to hold them in place. It fit well on my 20 gallon long tank. Don’t feel it’s worth the $70 maybe $30-40.

I have a 10 gallon tank and this fit in the old fashioned frame from the old lid perfectly. The lights were a bit tricky but if you star from the end closest to where the plug goes it goes rather nicely. Lights are a tight fit so I’m not worried about them falling into the tank. The lights look great in the tank and really bring out the background I purchased.
