Perfect my bearded dragon; they need a 10.0 UVB
T5 HO UVB Reptile Light Kit â High-Output 24W 10.0 UVB for Reptiles â Liner UVB Light Ideal for Bearded Dragons, Tortoise & Lizard, T5 UVB Light Fixture and BulbI got this for my bearded dragonâs EcoFlex 2âx2âx4â enclosure. Itâs essential to have UVB for most if not all lizards otherwise they can get metabolic bone disease (MBD). This is a very nice and well made fixture and bulb. You do have to twist it upon first using it (the bulb/lamp). I think it came untwisted for safety purposes I suppose. Itâs nice because the power cord is detachable. This is especially helpful if youâll be installing it inside the enclosure. It even comes with hardware to do this if you need it.Iâm very pleased with this light and would certainly recommend it.

Iâve only been using this for a few weeks but so far itâs been working perfectly. My old lamp quit working so I replaced it with this one and my bearded dragon has reacted well to it. He became more active once the new lamp and bulb came on, which is what is expected when they get a new UV bulb. I havenât noticed any flickering or other issues so Iâm pleased. The current price point of approximately $42 seems very good for the lamp and bulb.

Wonderful UVB lamp with decent output, offers full coverage for my tortoise setup
This T5 lamp fit my oversized tortoise cage better than most other UVB lamps Iâve owned, it is a size I never tried because I always assumed it would be too large, but it actually is perfect for the amount of tortoises I have housed as well. Itâs a basic quality lamp similar to others Iâve owned, itâs just much larger, and priced well even so.

6 mo warranty only, not to be used in moist environments
It only has a 6 month warranty from a company with a reputation of their bulbs burning out quickly. (It’s not my first rodeo with their lights, and my personal experience is in line with their reputation.) I had hopes that with their new listing came an improved product, but this is not a new model as far as I can tell. Furthermore, their warranty does not backup their sales claim that it has a 12 month lifespan. So I feel like that is false advertising. Considering standard bulbs have a 1 yr warranty and premium ones have a 2 yr warranty, the 6 month warranty is very sub-standard.That aside, it comes well packaged with the bulb already installed. It uses a standard cord that is interchangeable with most competing lamps. It can be daisy-chained (1 ft connector cord included). The main cord is 5â3â long. The on/off switch is on the cord and positioned close to the wall-plug end. There is no on/off switch on the lamp itself. The lamp is otherwise fairly standard. It comes with minimal installation hardware.It does NOT include a cap for the daisy chain port when not it use. I would personally feel safer if it did.Strict instructions are given to keep the lamp dry at all times, including keeping it at least 15 cm away from the direct range of fogging and misting always keeping the tube and surroundings dry. They mention it is not to be used above an aquarium or any area with open water or misting. Their words are that the kit is ânot designed to work in wet environment.â They do not say what the humidity limit is for safe use. Due to the lack of cap and warnings against water – I would not install this in a humid set-up. There is a real risk of electrical fires when lights not graded for high humidity are used in humid environments.Otherwise, the light output is certainly very bright and stark white and operation of the lamp is intuitive.

It works!
I had one of my fixtures go out on me so When I replaced it I decided I needed to keep a spare around (I have 3 bearded dragons – seems like I’m always replacing something! lol) so I picked this one up. I set it up and tried it when it came in to make sure it worked. What’s the point of having a backup if it doesn’t work when you need it? I have some dome fixtures for basking bulbs from this company and they are well made so I felt pretty confident getting a UVB fixture from them. They are good value products that seem to last quite a while and appear to be comparable to the major name brands.

So far, this lamp has been great. My three-year-old bearded dragon is still thriving under it, and I actually swapped both his and his sisterâs old Arcadia lights for this one. Honestly, itâs just as bright as the Arcadia, and he still loves basking like nothing changed.Installing it was easy. I literally just popped the old bulb/lamp out, put this one in, and done. My setup makes it easy to take in and out when I need to, but if youâre hanging yours, get the lamp hangers for this type of light. Trust me, they make life way easier when youâre switching things out.Brightness feels the same as the original, and Iâm hoping it lasts just as long. Overall, itâs doing the job, my dragonâs happy, and I didnât have to spend a fortune.
