Very insightful
I really enjoyed learning about how to properly care for my baby sulacata (Mr. Tortoise as he is known in my home). All of the information inside this book was very useful to me and helped me care for Mr tortoise in all the right places. However i do wish the book was better formatted – This 5 star review is for the content of the book i’d give the formatting a 4 star, but im sure its just a personal issue. There are too many hyphens with the same content within this book for my taste. Thank you Ben Team for writting this book,my sulcata is 9 month old and loving live, currently in the process of building him/her a table.

Prior to buying this book I thought I had the perfect habitat for a Sulcata, boy was I caught off guard. I think every potential tortoise owner should read this and be aware of the fact that tortoises have special needs every stage of their lives. It was very comprehensive, and for a novel enthusiast, a wealth of entry-intermediate level knowledge [and a few advanced, like giving your pet injections…]. Overall I enjoyed it, it could use more pictures, its a cute species 🙂

Awesome book for a beginner
Read this book cover to cover in one sitting, overall very useful, esspecially for someone who is just learning. The only reason for the 4 star is they could have done a little more homework on the ecology of them in their natural environment, the way it is worded makes it seem as if they are all heat all the time, when truthfully they are rarely seen in the summer when they spend most of their time in their holes and mainly come out and are most active during the rainy season
