A good scooper for Meal Worm Farming
I got this scooper for a different reason than most people might. I’m using it for worm harvesting. I have bins of mealworms, and I need to scoop them out and clean the bins periodically. To do that, I sift through several layers using a series of sifters with progressively smaller holes. This will be one of my last-stage scoopers.Iâll use this scoop after I remove most of the larger debris. I’ll scoop and shake it so that the small debris falls through, and hopefully, the little worms will remain on top of the holes. That’s the plan for using it.The good things about this scooper are its sizeâitâs a bit larger than I expected for my purpose, but it will still work fine. It feels strong, hard, and rigid, so it can hold whatever I put in it, even if itâs heavy. I also like the sharp edge; it tapers to a point, allowing me to scrape the bottom if needed.I appreciate the design of the handle, especially the little divot that fits my thumb perfectly. Initially, I didn’t notice it, but when I started using the scooper, my finger naturally positioned itself there, giving me good leverage. Thereâs also a second divot that allows for a comfortable grip. Overall, Iâm quite happy with this for my purposes.If you’re looking to use this as a pooper scooper, I think it would work great as long as the material youâre dealing with is small enough to fall through the holes. I believe this scooper is a solid choice!

Great for Daily Cleaning in My Beardieâs Cage
PROS:- Fine mesh works well for sifting sand and separating waste.- Stainless steel build feels sturdy and durable.- Lightweight design makes it easy to handle during daily spot cleaning.- Non-slip handle gives good grip and control.CONS:- Mesh is shallow, so if you’re looking for something deeper this doesnât hold a lot at once.- Works best with finer substrates, larger pieces donât sift as well.- Arrived slightly bent, though the netting was easy to flex back into place.THOUGHTS:Iâve been using this scooper in my bearded dragonâs enclosure, and it makes spot cleaning quick and simple. The fine mesh easily separates droppings from sand, and the sturdy handle makes it comfortable to use. It came a little bent, but I was able to fix it without any trouble. Since my bearded dragon doesnât poop a lot, this scooper actually holds up really well and is perfect for daily upkeep.
