Less Packaging equals Less Waste

Our Packaging is 100% recyclable and there is just plain less of it. We use 80% less packaging by weight. This means that there is less in the landfill and more going back to be reused again and again.

Waste

The tray is an outdated and inefficient use of materials. Not only is the packaging larger than our wrapper and going to the landfill, but also the suet sticks to the tray! This means more for the garbage and less for the birds!

Customers say

Customers find these suet cakes to be of excellent quality, easy to open, and lasting through various weather conditions including rain and snow. They appreciate the value for money, with one customer noting it’s the best deal for quality suet. However, there are mixed experiences with bird attraction – while some customers report plenty of birds eating them up, others say their birds won’t touch them at all. Additionally, there are mixed experiences with durability, with some saying they stay solid while others report them falling apart.

    Birds love these
I like these suet cakes (quality & bulk price) but my birds LOVE them. So fun to watch them enjoy the feeder. 😍

Our birds and squirrels love this suet.
Both our wild birds and squirrels love this suet, it is difficult to keep up with them, they devour it.

For Woodpeckers, Nuthatches, Chickadees, Titmice . . .
Contrary to some reviews, these suet cakes get gobbled up by the usual suspects, especially during colder months when they need the extra energy. They fit a small suet cage, and as long as the cage is hung where they can find and access it, the birds will feed from it. Of course, if you don’t have woodpeckers, nuthatches, and other suet-eating birds in your yard, then the suet cake will be left untouched. Not every bird eats suet. And if the suet is rancid (mine wasn’t), then the birds won’t eat it, either, even if they are used to suet. I can’t speculate why some reviewers’ birds wouldn’t eat these cakes when they would eat others. All I know is that I have to hang a new one once a week.I bought these suet cakes because my usual brand was unavailable and because they were priced right at the time I ordered. That other brand offers orange, berry, and seed-studded varieties that my birds may prefer. These cakes have some embedded millet and a few sunflower seeds, but they are not flavored. Like most cakes these days, they don’t melt in the rain or snow — or presumably high temperatures, although I don’t use suet in warmer months.– Debbie Lee Wesselmann

    Suet Plus
Just one problem, the package arrived with one side almost completely open. The birds love the product ( so do squirrels).

Very low price and great product
Buying this way saves a lot of money. The price per pound (unit pricing) was much lower than eBay and lower than any other Amazon suet

    Perfect for the RIGHT season
As I read the reviews I see many people are having trouble with attracting birds to this product. I would have those people pay attention to when they are using this product in their local area. Here in Texas, I only use these suet cakes in the winter because birds generally have a higher energetic requirement in the winter compared to the summer (huge generalization). In the summertime, this product I would assume has too much fat content and/or is not necessary for birds in the summer. They never come to it in the summer. What I have noticed is that my suet feeder does not attract all birds but definitely attracts some birds versus others. I live in a super urban area and my background count is literally no more than 15 species (except flyovers). Here, I find that Northern Mockingbirds, House Sparrows (duh) will always come to the suet … but only in the winter. Our winter residents like yellow-rumped warblers and orange-crowned warblers also love these. I have seen a downy woodpecker on it once but they tend to prefer the peanut butter suet.Ultimately, I love this product because its easy and makes our urban birds lives easier to get through our ‘frigid’ texas winters. They are shelf-stable and have a long shelf-life.

    Bird nerd approved
I’ve bought this suet a number of times and have been very satisfied. The birds certainly seem to enjoy it. (Squirrels, too, unfortunately, but that’s beside the point.) The cakes are nice and solid and don’t fall apart. I like that they’re not in little plastic trays, like some brands are, so you can just unwrap it and put it in the suet feeder so they can access it from all sides.Birds that I’ve seen eat this suet: bluebirds, chickadees, titmice, cardinals, catbirds, mockingbirds, starlings, red-bellied woodpeckers, downy woodpeckers, hairy woodpeckers, ruby crowned kinglets, baltimore orioles, brown thrashers, towhees, and probably others that I’m forgetting.
