The perfect bird feeder
I would have to say this is the best bird feeder I ever had. It is built well and it is definitely squirrel proof. The portals are metal unlike many feeders which use plastic. Squirrels will chew the plastic creating a bigger hole causing the seed to escape the feeder. Also many times the squirrels will pop out the plastic portals from the plastic cylinder holding the seeds. That can’t happen with this feeder. The metal portals are securely fastened to the metal grid surrounding the feeder. Each portal has a gate which closes the portal should a squirrel get in the feeder. The gate is part of the metal grid. The entire grid with gate slides down from the weight of the squirrel and then slides back up when the squirrel jumps off. The top is a sloped metal roof which is secured to the metal grid and overhangs the feeder. Feed access is a metal cap secured separately to a flexible hanger cord. The opening is smaller than most feeders but you can use a funnel or a longer spouted measuring cup. I use a more narrow plastic gallon container which works perfectly. This feeder looks nice, built strong and perfectly achieves everything you look for in a feeder and the price is right too. What more could you ask for? I bought 2, hung 10′ apart from my porch roof. Each feeder has 4 portals and both feeders are fully occupied. It didn’t take long for the birds to discover and usethem. I highly recommend them.

Sorry Squirrels. This Is For The Birds!
This really works! The squirrels can’t get the food, and the birds love it. I have it hooked on to the overhang on my deck, and one of my favorite things has become watching all the different types of beautiful birds enjoy their treats.

We Love This Bird Feeder
Definitely squirrel-proof! And the birds love it, but only small birds can fit on the 4 perches to eat, like chickadees & wrens. The cardinals & blue jays eat the seeds off the ground that the little birds drop. We are glad we purchased this bird feeder!

Few birds visit it compared to other feeders.
Itâs a nice feeder but the feeding holes are small. Typically I have 3-5 birds on other feeders in my yard and one or none on this one. Also the construction is rather light.

Squirrel proof yes â¦large bird?
I have had this feeder for a week now and have it suspended from two trees with paracord about 4 feet off the ground. Good design that prevents squirrels. Nice heavy construction and holds a lot of seed. Pretty easy to refill. A funnel will be helpful but with a red solo cup works well. On consideration is that the way the holes are spaced and the spring loaded perches it doesnât allow large birds like blue jays and cardinals easy access. My wood pecker figured it out. They just land sideways and hold on to the wire frame and not the perch and has access to the fee without triggering the spring. This is the first year we have fed them, being a new house, so I donât know if I donât have many cardinals and blue jays or they just canât sit on it without closing up the access. I have sunflower seeds in it but not bigger birds save the tricky wood pecker but lots of smaller birds. You might consider a different style for bigger birds or maybe I am just not patient enough for the bigger ones. Overall pleased with it!I just added a picture of the woodpecker. Not a g great resolution pic but it gives you a little idea of the size. The picture of the cardinal on the product pictures I think is incorrect and shows the cardinal much smaller in relation to the feeder than it would be in real life. The woodpecker is kind of hanging on like I described (side ways) but not exactly but shows how he would access the lower hole around the corner. If he was on the perch I think the hole would be at his belly and hard to get his head that low assuming he wasn’t too heavy and wouldn’t trigger the spring….which I think he might be. Anyway…forgive the run-on review. 🙂 I still like the feeder, just something to think about.

Nice bird feeder
Birds love it. Squirrels, not so much. Solidly built. Easy to fill and clean. My cats love watching the birds from the window.

We love the bird feeder, the squirrels are not loving it.

Does the job of keeping the squirrels out!
I think this bird feeder gets 5 stars for keeping the squirrels away and I have some pretty smart squirrels! I give it 1-2 stars less for keeping the seeds in but that may be just on the birds. My last feeder was similar to this one, but I like the spring mechanism on this feeder way better and I think it is easier to add the sunflower seeds I use. I wish it came in better colors as I don’t like the green or gray (blue would be nice!!), but I can live with that as long as it is defeating the squirrels!! I would recommend it.

The birds love it and so do I. The squirrels can’t get on it and the pigeons leave it alone.

I Love this Feeder. It is very well designed. Easy to fill. Just cut the bottom off a two litre pop bottle. Squirrels are very destructive and can chew threw aluminium plate and all sorts of materials so weâll see if it stands the test of timeâ¦.UPDATE. The Northern Squirrels are SMART. They hang upside down from the wire and the middle round inner piece that remains stationary. That enables them to reach the seed in the upper two chambers. I believe I have a solution to the problem. Cut the bottom off of a 355ml pop can and slide it over the wire onto the top middle portion. (See Photo). That should keep them out of range. If not. Use a 1 litre plastic pop bottle which is longer. Pop can works great. If they hang from it, it will slide down over the feeder holes as originally designed. I think the seller should send me a free feeder for fool proofing their feeder.

I love this feeder and so do the birds. Itâs very easy to fill, just lift the top centre piece and pour the seed in, I use a funnel. My other feeder requires me to unscrew a nut at the top which can be a nuisance especially when itâs very cold outside. Itâs very easy to clean, just soak in soapy water in the sink then rinse well and let air dry. I gave 4 stars because itâs not fully squirrel proof. Yes the holes are blocked if a squirrel gets on it but squirrels are too smart and know how to hang from the pole and get to the food. Positioning our pole away from trees and installing a baffle halfway up the pole has done the trick!

I bought this bird feeder for two reasons: it holds a good amount, 3 pounds, of bird seedand it is easy to refill. To put more seed in the chamber I simply pull up the top dome and pour the seed in.This feeder does fox the squirrels. Itâs a solid build and sturdy enough for our Alberta winters. Itâs a pleasure to see the birds eating the sunflower seeds. This is a good looking feeder and well worth the price.

This is a great feeder. The birds took to it immediately. (The squirrels just sit under it, pouting.) I fill it almost everyday so I wish it held more seed, but otherwise it’s great. I imagine it would be perfect for Finch food.
