My dog loves them!
I make my own dog food, these have been a great addition to her diet to ensure she getting all the nutrients she needs. Great quality and balanced ingredients. They must taste great, because she gets very excited to take her vitamins! Super effective & doesn’t smell weird!

My picky rescue with missing teeth likes them and is able to chew easily (I do break it in half). Seems like they are helping to keep her healthy.

My dog did not like the taste/texture
I tried EVERYTHING to get my dog to eat these. I don’t know if it’s the texture or what. I used peanut butter, cutting it up. He wasn’t not having it.

Spirited Paw Health + Vitality for Dogs
I am a pet professional and a doctor of nutrition for people and pets. I am no stranger to Standard Process supplements. I formulate homemade diets for pets so I know that many homemade diets fall short of the NRC and AAFCO nutrient standards and requirements for dogs. Spirited Paw Health + Vitality for Dogs has critical nutrients that very often fall short in a canine diet: zinc, manganese, and Vit D. I love the nutrient formula of this supplement, but I was crushed to see the use of a seed oil. Seed oils are highly inflammatory. I wish they would go back to formula and use a different fat source from an animal source such as tallow. Since my dogs are raw fed and have never had any processed crunchy food, I wasn’t sure they would eat the wafer. I tried the wafers first with my biggest male and he spit it out. He was curious so he picked it back up and played with it in his mouth for quite awhile before spitting it out again. I was about to take it away, but he picked it up and crunched it. He got the hang of it so I offered him another and he ate it much quicker. I gave him the third wafer in his meal and he ate that as well. So far so good…my four dogs ate the wafers. I am undecided if I will purchase again or recommend this to my clients’ pets. The seed oil is not a good ingredient. I hope Standard Process chooses to change the formula to a better, more healthier fat source.

DO YOUR RESEARCH, then decide for yourself if you’re doing the right thing.
I wish I knew how to give a good honest review on these pet products. To know what you are talking about when it comes to these things requires alot of time researching Then how do you know if what you are reading is true. Lately, I have found that most everything I have thought to be true has turned out to be all lies. So I’m on the fence about the pet products. Two of the dogs here are my daughters dogs. One of them is getting elderly and she thinks he needs this stuff to help him stay strong and slow his debilitating arthritis. But I do not know how to tell if it is what it says, I do not know well enough to declare it safe and healthy. The FDA has already proven that they are a waste of time and money and are a complete harbor of misconceptions AND LIES. Just look at all the approved dog foods responsible for making our pets sick and CAUSING PREMATURE DEATH. All I can do is try to notice any differences, good bad or indifferent. And tell the consumers to do their own research. I dont give my dog any of these supplements, vitamins, probiotics ect…I just feed him good healthy food I make myself and my vet says he needs to stay healthy.That’s all I have for this review. I wish it was more, but consumers will have to decide this one on a personal level.

liver makes my dogs happy
For some reason my dogs love anything that’s got liver as a prime ingredient. These supplements are no exception. We use a lot of supplements to avoid having vet visits later as our dogs age. The liver seems to also have a taste and smell that my 3 dogs love. I have no problems getting them to eat these. Also, their stomach is not upset by these so I highly recommend them.

Quality Ingredients.
My wife did not give these to our dogs for a few weeks, thinking they were just liver pills. We are up to our wazoo in liver treats already, so she ignored this bottle. A fortnight ago (yes…a fortnight! I hope thou art pleased) I noticed the bottle was unopened.I thought she was probably right on waiting to use these until I read the label.They have a lot of really good nutrients packed into these wafers…not just liver.Both of my dogs LOVE liver (don’t they all?), and there was zero hesitation from them.My older dog is ten now, so the calcium addition is a welcome one.The dogs are healthy right now, so I cannot say I have seen any difference at all. It has been 10 days or so since I started giving the out. It’s a difficult thing to judge unless the change is drastic.But I believe they have a better chance of STAYING healthy with these wafers.That’s good enough for me.

Happy to try these Spirited Paw Health + Vitality for Dogs – Pet Supplement. Standard process is a trusted brand and I wanted to try these for my senior dog. They are a chewable wafer that I break in half. Even though it states for her weight to give 2 per day, I started with 1/2 to make sure there wasn’t any digestive upset. There wasn’t, but that’s something I do with any new thing I give her because we’ve had some trouble in the past. No digestive issue and she seems to like it as a treat. It’s hard to say if it’s making a difference yet, because I think just like human supplements, you’d need to take for a bit before you see if it’s helping or not.
