Very effective
My cats have a decided âhate itâ relationship with any metal bristle brush but their fur this time of year demands extra Mom attention grooming. I tried this one by bribing with treats and although their first reaction was to run expecting the metal bristle feel, after the second attempt they realized it also massaged them. No the one that needs the most grooming goes to the brush and loudly informs me he wants brushes – and doesnât care if treats are involved. As far as this house is concerned I donât think there could be a more resounding âbuy itâ cry being possible. I know cat (like human) personalities can vary wildly but this does the job while giving a massage sensation so in that respect you couldnât get better for a cat. The only thing that I can think of that might improve it is a device that a button could push to remove all fur from base of âbristlesâ similar to some metal bristle brushes out there. However if you wash it everything comes right out so absolutely not a huge deal.

Hard to get the hair off the grooves of the rubber bristles
My cat loves it…but cleaning the hair out of the brush isn’t easy…

Works really well
My cat is 21 and 1/2 and very thin so I can’t use stiff bristles on her. Her hair is medium/short with heavy underfluff. This tool is extremely soft on her skin but removes a lot of loose fur quickly. It’s just a bit large for her and difficult to get to her belly with.

This brush works well removing and collecting hair off both my fluffy/wispy though shorter haired cat and my Boston Terrier whose hair is very short and course.Both animals tend to be jerks about being groomed and will nip when we attempt to brush them with slicker brushes, not to mention the cat just runs every time she sees the hand mit brush. She loves being groomed with this brush and even came back three times to be brushed by it, purring all the way! It removed a good amount of hair from both of them.Cleans easily when dry when brushing the cat, but for the dog I have to rinse the hair off, which is no big deal. It also does a pretty decent job of removing cat hair from clothing afterwards, which is a nice bonus.It is a little heavy and would be more comfortable to hold if the middle divider wasnât the entire width of the brush, Iâm going to try and trim mine down with an exacto knife so my fingers wrap around it a little easier.

My kids are standing in line to get brushed!
We’ve bought MANY brushes and they never worked. We tried brushing them a couple of times then the cats scratches us, and we are done.BUT My cats love this brush!!! If I start brushing one, the others are eyeing us and looking very jealous. They are literally waiting on line to get brushed next. I will be buying a second one so someone can brush at the same time.Its a bit on the heavy side but I like that you can slide your hand inside the brush for a better hold on the brush. The cats love the soft side of the brush best!

Not good for short hair
We have a pitbull mix with short hair. I find it only lasts so long as far as brushing time. This product has to be cleaned frequently as well. Unfortunately this has to be soaked in water (like another review said) then dried a lot before use in order to remove hair and even then for us it didn’t take all of the hair out. Maybe it works for long haired dogs? But for short hair like a pitty it didn’t work for us. We are going to try a metal version. There are plenty on amazon with great reviews and thousands of reviews at that!
