Magnesium is good for so many things!
I bought this for my mare that gets head shaking syndrome when it starts to get hot out. Iâve found if I start her on it before symptoms get bad and before the weather is hot frequently that it works well to prevent it. This magnesium is very inexpensive and very easy to feed as you only give a small scoop. I trust this brand, they make great products! I like that it comes in a foil pouch rather than a plastic bucket. Very pleased with it!

Helped slim my tubby mare
I have a very easy keeper who gets fat on air, even while in regular work and having grain taken out of her diet. I realized she was lacking Mg based on hay analysis, so I decided to try this. She is finally losing excess spongy fat and gaining muscle where she should. On top of that, this bag is really good value; 10 lbs is ample supply for the price. I give her a scoop mixed with a little bit of applesauce, she takes it no problem.

Good value, basic magnesium supplement
Purchased this to balance the calcium in alfalfa feed to my two horses. The mare accepted it in her grain no problem. The old gelding, who is very sceptical about stuff in his feed, was annoyed with it the 1st day. But is now eating it just fine. Maybe too soon to tell, but after three days of adding this supplement, the young mare does seem a bit more calm. I got my vet’s approval prior to purchase.The dosage scoop is tiny, so 10lbs will last a long time!

Too grainy to dissolve in hot water unless you pulverize in a blender first.
I bought this hoping to use it to make my own milk of magnesia solution that I use for making deodorant antiperspirant. I currently use unflavored milk of magnesia in my deodorant recipe. This product is too granular and doesnât dissolve in hot water. Next, Iâll try pulverizing the crap out of it in a food processor to see if I can get a fine enough powder to dissolve and suspend in water. Otherwise, itâs back to buying bottles of milk of magnesia. I put a cup or two of the dry granules in a blender and pulverized it and it worked good. Nice and powdery.

Only have to give a small amount so it lasts a long time! My horses have been on it about a month so far. Using it in conjunction with Copper, Zinc, and Vitamin E as part of an anti inflammatory diet as I transition my horses to barefoot.

Great for excitable horses. Steady calming effect
Horses donât mind the taste at all when mixed with grain. Even the picky ones. Lifesaver for quieting my excitable ones. Itâs like they just focus on the task at hand but donât loose any athleticism. It seems to quiet the mind and helps a lot with spooking. Also seems to help with muscle soreness and tightness in the back. I give more in the summer to replenish lost electrolytes. I feed one scoop / day for maintenance but I feed 2 scoops per day if I want to see a calming effect. Need to increase gradually to 2 scoops or it can cause loose stools and some gas at first.
