Great quality
While Iâm not sure if 18-going-on-19 would truly be considered a âseniorâ horse, Iâm not really one to take chances when it comes to my âbabyâ. And, I know heâs aging, and occasionally I hear the âpopsâ and âcracksâ of arthritis, so anything I can try and offer to help is worth it.And, as itâs SmartPak, Iâm not worried about quality. I know the ingredients are going to be good.Now, I will say as this was being used on my competition horse, Iâve followed the rules of my organizations on withdrawal as it DOES say it has Devilâs Claw and MSM in it (check the rules if you compete to make sure itâs legal!). For someone who doesnât compete, or where those are okay, this is worth looking in to!As we were heading in to winter, I cannot positively speak about coat quality; but I feel like I saw some improvement in his skin (fewer flakes in his mane and areas where we get occasional scurfing).

Every horse is gong to react differently to a supplement so it is hard to say how effective it will be for your horse. First off, I trust the brand. I took off one star because it only lasts for 1 month and at $80 I don’t think it is a good value. If you are on a budget I think you can find the top ingredients at a much lower cost but to get all the micro ingredients and probiotics you need to pay the price. You are paying for convenience and a full spectrum of active ingredients.Overall, I highly recommend the Smart Combo Senior. If it works for you, you can probably sign up for auto-ship which will make it a bit more cost effective.

First, to be fair, I’ve been happy with every SmartPak product I’ve ever bought, so I started out with a high level of faith. But I have a 23 year old retired ranch horse who, bomb proof though he is in the field, absolutely does NOT have an adventurous appetite. He’ll turn up his nose at the most mundane of things, and because of this, getting supplements into him has previously been a little tricky. If he smells a hint of something “new” on his feed he’ll walk away, or at best carefully eat around it. If I stir it all the way in, well he just won’t eat dinner that night. He’s a mess!I knew when I opened these that this wasn’t going to be an issue this time. They smell heavenly! (Well, in a horse-feed kind of way.) They smell like sweet feed, and that’s one of his favorites! Sure enough, I took him his first dose with fingers crossed, and he ate his meal without complaint! That evening, wanting to be sure, I sprinkled it on top of his feed where I knew he’d see and smell it first, and he actually went after these pellets first thing!These cover a huge range of interests from joint and hoof to enzyme and probiotics, which means they’ve replaced an awful lot of things that my little old man did not want to eat before. I’m so grateful to have found them! Thank You SmartPak!

SmartPak items are always awesome. It takes a while to see results from any supplement, but based on my long use of SmarkPak items, I have no doubts of the results. I tested this supplement on our three horses and they all thought it was yummy. I feel confident giving it five starts on palatability. I liked the option of buying the bag to cut down on the little foil topped plastic packets. In my opinion this is a “large amount” supplement – whereas a lot of supplments are condensed into a 1 oz little scoop, you have to feed 3.5 ounces of this daily – which is no big deal if the horse likes to eat it! But does make buying in the bag a little more space-efficient in my mind than the packets for this specific product. It appears a little pricey at first, but it contains so much. This could easily replace 3 or 4 supplements – I have bought just one of these many ingredients for half the monthly price.
