The pods should be stored as pictured, with the lid down and the food inverted up. The worms will crawl to the top to feed and their waste will fall to the bottom, just dump out daily to clean. Easy 1-2-3 Care This Side Up!
When your silkworm pod arrives, dump out the waste and orient the silkworm pod(s) so the food is at the top and the lid is faces down. You should prop a pen/pencil under the lip to allow air flow exchange between the solid surface and the lid. (You can also store on wire racks.) The silkworms will grip the black screen as they feed and waste will fall to the bottom/lid.
Cleaning?
The silkworms can remain in the pod until they run out of food and or outgrow the pod. As the silkworms grow larger, you will need to discard their waste by removing the lid and allowing the waste to drop out. Keeping the temperature in the low 80’s will allow for fast growth. Once they reach about an inch long, the growth is extremely fast.

Excellent option
All but one were alive and well and arrived well-packaged. Good-sized silkworms and consistently sized throughout, considering I ordered small ones. This option is definitely better quality than the local reptile store, where I bought a quarter of the amount for the same price and received some tiny ones and a couple that were bigger than my leopard gecko âs tail. Will order again, but I also ordered eggs, so I will update once those hatch ð¤ð½

Excellent lizard snacks
My gecko loves these. Nice and soft, easy on the tummy. And they come small and get really big before trying to turn into moths. It does smell a little weird and my dog wants them as a snack too, so storing them hidden away is best. Pricing is perfect for the quality and quantity

Plz read update. Replaced order. Very dissapointed. Much larger than what I ordered.
Final Update: Seller did send a replacement. They arrived in perfect shape and were much smaller. These are working quite well. They do grow fast but with the size variation as long as I feed the larger ones first these are perfect. My veiled chameleon loves them! (We didnt have the best communication but everyone has a bad day on occasion) I will deffinately order these again.Update: contacted seller and was told to purchase a smaller size! If I had recieved what I ordered there wouldn’t have been an issue!I have a juvenile veiled chameleon and a juvenile axolotl. I almost ordered the small but 1/2 to 1 inch sounded like a good size, so I ordered the medium. These are easily double the size! There are maybe 3 or 4 that are just slightly larger than an inch, the rest are 2″ or longer. I met the delivery guy at the door so these were not left sitting out. They were alive but not very active. I’m not sure how active these are supposed to be as this is my first time getting them. There was a LOT of poop in the container so I know they have been eating. I guarantee you, if I order these again, I won’t make the same Costly mistake. With shipping these cost me well over $30. I am already seeing some that appear to be spinning silk strands. ð³ probably wont be long before some are cocooning. (In all fairness I have not contacted the seller yet)

Great price and product
I have been ordering these from my chameleon and I used to order from another company, but the silkworms were always large, even saying they were small. But COASTAL Silkworms start off small which allows me to feed longer. I always refer my customers who buy reptiles to order from this company. I even feed them to my Jumping Spider!!!!

Arrived disgusting, My chameleons spit them out!
Not real impressed, when I received them they were brown and wet with poop all over them, they obviously werenât good because my chameleon would grab them and then spit them out. Itâs almost like they gave me super old worms or something. They had already started to spin silk, the lid was covered. Overall not impressed at all

Around 1 month alive
Quite impressed. I was worried they would arrive dead. Been using them as feed for my lizard. If you see, there are numerous cacoons. Just follow the directions and they will last a long time. I threw away some of the bigger ones as they appeared because I didnt want them to eat all the feed. Only 3 have died over the month due to unknown causes.
