    Absorbent, good odor control
Absorbent, proper control is good, not dusty. Very suitable for my pet rats’ litter boxes. Heavy enough to stay in the box. Lasts well. Worth the price.

Great for my rats and for cats too!
I use this hemp pellet bedding mostly for my rats litter pans. They seem to like it much better than the other critter litters at the pet stores. I’ve also used this for a litter of kittens that didn’t understand litter boxes yet. I live how absorbent the pellets are! Super easy to still scoop if wanted, but also easy to completely dump and clean the pans. No hard clumps stuck to the pan. Smell is almost non-existant! If I could afford to buy this all the time for all of my animals, I would definitely switch completely! It is a great price for the amount you get, but we would go through 2-3 of these boxes in a week if we used it for our cats as well.

Better than paper litter – superior odor control and absorption
I’m no stranger to hemp litter and Small Pet Select products, but this is the first time using compressed hemp litter. I have 4 rabbits.Small Pet Select – Hemp Pelleted Bedding has no plastics and is in a heavy-duty box. I’m in a wet climate, so I needed to repackage in a plastic bucket. The only con of this product – it is quite dusty at the bottom of the box. These pellets are large and dense. I find these don’t last as long if you use your normal amount of bedding, and you can get away with less. The litter slowly absorbs and they can absorb a lot, so I scatter on the side where they use the litterbox the most. I can stretch extra days, up to 5, before changing rabbit litter boxes. And when I change, there is very little smell, and that’s the only time I notice smells. My rabbits didn’t eat the litter. They had no issues transitioning/ I didn’t wean them into it. However, they were on loose hemp litter beforehand. Hemp litter is hands down superior! If you prefer litter pellets, this is the best out there. They last longer and absorb smells without additives. So much better than paper! Personally, I prefer the loose hemp litter more as it is softer on their feet.

Do NOT buy if you plan to use for bunny’s litter box
I’m offer using environmentally friendly products, and this of course is a great product for anyone who is like that too. The smell isn’t horrible either, and the odor control is mostly good. It has a good price for the amount you’re getting, and I don’t doubt that it’s great to use as cage bedding. But in terms of using it for a rabbit’s litter box, you would be MUCH better off buying something else. I discovered the hard way that when this litter gets wet, it crumbles and breaks down into what looks like a soil. If your rabbit’s bum is still wet after using the restroom, the crumbly bits will stick to them and cause matted fur. Yes, I do regularly clean my bunnies’ litter boxes, and this still happened. I almost had to take my rabbit to the vet because of this. If you’re using it for cage bedding, I’m sure it’s great, but do not use it for a rabbit’s litter box, especially if your rabbit has super fine fur like mine does. Two stars for price for the size.

    IT’S GOOD
We’ve had a great many pets over the years including cats, birds, a bunny, a ferret, and a chinchilla, so we’re very familiar with bedding and litter box issues. This hemp bedding works well. It’s at least as good as all of the other non-clay alternatives that we’ve tried.Hot Tip: Put it in a litter box for your bunny. Rabbits will relieve themselves anyplace you put litter or bedding, so if you fill up the whole bottom of their cage, they’ll treat the entire thing like a giant litter box. Learned that one the hard way.

wouldn’t work for burrowing for hamsters
I wouldn’t use this bedding as a base for our hamster’s enclosure. He wouldn’t be able to burrow in it. The pellets are large, dry, hard with a hard shell and wouldn’t hold a burrow. So I’m not sure if it should be advertised as for hamsters. We still use it, but mostly to add a new texture in our hamster’s enclosure. We sprinkle it here and there and he seems to like it. We even saw him take it inside his cheeks and transfer somewhere he liked.I assume it would be suitable for guinea pigs, rabbits and bigger pets. It could work great as a layer for their beds or as filler for potty containers. It is a big box and the price is good for the amount you get. It’ll definitely last a while for our hamster.

    Great bedding
I really like hemp bedding. It really seems to absorb the smell of the waste really well and can really hold in a lot of waste it seems. This works very well for all types of pets and I also tried it in the litter boxes of my cats and it worked well.
