Was worried that these might be thin cheap material but was pleasantly surprised that they are sturdy solid material and quite strong for their purpose. Easily fits over a standard 4-1/2â diameter ceramic light socket. I have a standard low profile ceiling mount box/plate, standard ceramic socket, and 150W ceramic heat emitter, and this cage easily fits over all of that with enough space around the hot parts that pets wonât get burned if they come into contact. Handy hinged âlidâ allows easy bulb changes without disassembly. Came with tiny mounting screws but they work perfectly. I hesitated due to the price but after installing Iâm pleased with the purchase. Should last a long time.

why spend $29 on one Arcadia bulb protector when you can spend $24 for two just as good?!?!!??!?!
After burning myself on one of my heat bulbs for my new leopard gecko enclosures, I knew I had to buy something to stop myself from doing it again, and prevent my geckos from ever making the same mistake I did. When first buying these, I was a bit skeptical of the price… it’s just a metal mesh… why so expensive… I’ll tell you why… they’re large… and mean business. They fit over my bulbs with no issues, and aren’t too long so they don’t take up the entire enclosure. They don’t stop heat from getting to my geckos, but protects them from touching the bulb that could burn them. The product is built immensely well, and I expect them to last as long as they are in use. They look good in the enclosure, but that’s not the best part. They also are super easy to install, AND have a spring open system that makes it so I don’ t have to take the cover completely off to replace the bulb, I can just open the bottom door, take the old bulb out, put the new bulb in, and close it. I recommend this to anyone looking to protect an animal… or yourself from a heat bulb, and would 100% buy these over the arcadia ones as they are very high quality at a much better price point. If I ever need to buy more heat bulb protectors, these will be my first choice.

Great, but screws too small
The lamp cages themselves work great, my only complaint is the size of the screws they come with. Theyâre actually small enough to slip completely through the holes theyâre supposed to go in to screw it to the enclosure. Was an easy fix after a run to the hardware store to get wider screws myself. And Iâve bought 4 of these on separate occasions and had the same issue. The screw can work if you angle them a certain way, but Iâm not risking my 9ft boa just taking it off because the screws are just barely too small.

This works great for preventing burns while still allowing the temperature to be maintained in the enclosure. Shipping was fast and price is comparable to other stores. It was easy to install and is made from a durable metal that also has a little door on the bottom. Nice feature for changing ceramic heat bulb without having to remove all the connectors for this cover.
