This is a great light for the money
I am really impressed with this light. I haven’t found any other light with this degree of control in this price range.I have 4 of these now in different sizes for my aquariums. Here is what I like about it:* It has dedicated controller and does not rely on an app.* It supports true 24/7 scheduling in 3 modes.A simple day/night modeA 5 stage mode that allows you to pick a different color preset for each stageAn 8 stage mode that allows full customization for each stage.* It has a battery to avoid losing settings/time during a power outage.* It has a temperature sensor and alarm. While a strange feature, it has been pretty useful.* The LEDs go very close to the edge of the light so coverage on the left and right is excellent.* The light color and intensity is configurableYou can control the intensity of the white/blue/red/green LEDs as a single setting. You can individually control the intensity of each channel of the narrow spectrum RGB LEDs.Those things together actually give you quite a bit of color customization for an inexpensive light.* I was surprised by how much reds pop with this light, I wish I had a high end light to compare color rendition against. There are some things that could be better:* The light sits very low to the tank and I have not been able to find any pre-made risers that fit a framed tank* The stated PAR for this light seems pretty accurate according to my tests however, it can’t compare to the high end, high tech lights that put out a lot more PAR. I am running a medium light setup and have it set to 50% so it isn’t really a problem for me.* The controller, while highly configurable, is exceptionally unintuitive. It works fine once you figure it out but the learning curve is steep. It also takes a lot of button presses to get things done since there are limited buttons available.* The buttons on the controller are not awesome* The preset color modes seem pretty useless. They turn off the white, red, green and blue LEDs and only use the RGB LEDs. It seems like a feature that was tossed into the light. Of course, you can just ignore this feature since you can dial in any combination you want.

    LCD display, customizable color
I got this light to replace my old fluorescent Aquan Colormax. I first tried another model from the same brand (SR-618), but since the colors weren’t customizable, I couldn’t replicate the look of my Colormax bulb and returned it the same day. This new one is perfect—fully adjustable colors, a built-in thermometer with alarms, and an LCD screen that makes setup way easier. The only tiny drawback is that the fixture is slightly larger (3.9″ vs. 3.7″), so it doesn’t slot perfectly into my aquarium cover light opening (see picture). But that’s just a quirk of my setup and definitely not a deal-breaker. Overall, I’m really happy with it!

    Good light for price
Excellent light for the price. Controls were a little clunky at first but you get used to it. The S3 mode lets you customize the WRGB ratio acxording to each cycle of the day.

Nice light but not easy for some of us to set up
I would have given this a 5 star rating but I didn’t because it was hard for me to set up. I’m older (not that old) and this tech stuff is not second nature to me. Anyway, someone was able to set it up for me and it makes my 140 gallon freshwater tank look gorgeous! The colors of the fish really pop!

This review evaluates the “WRGB LED Full Spectrum 20-Level Programmable Aquarium Fish Tank Light” made by SEAOURA.The product was shipped with no excessive or wasteful packaging. What’s in the box: one (1) 48W 120-137cm full spectrum LED programmable aquarium fish tank light, one (1) programmable controller with power cord, one (1) CR1220 lithium button cell battery, and an owner’s manual.First impressions: The overall build quality of the unit looks very good. It has a low-profile, durable aluminum casing that not only looks sleek but also provides excellent heat dissipation. The large heatsink is important to sufficiently cool the LED modules – the more cooling an LED module gets, the more reliable and long-lasting it will be. The light fixture is IP67 water-resistant and rated for long life. The controller cord has a generous 8.2-foot length. The lightbar uses high-quality LEDs that cover various light wavelength spectrums, making it ideal for not only the fish but also the growth of aquatic plants as well. The controller is very comprehensive and allows the 24/7 programming of power ON/OFF day/night cycles, 10 different colors, and 20 brightness levels to suit any aquarium needs. The controller has a single-cell CR1220 battery to back up your settings when the power is off. A temperature probe is included, and a welcome addition for monitoring your tank. How did this light perform? Very good! I bought this unit for my Wife, who loves her aquariums (we have four aquariums in our living room, yes, you read that right – FOUR… two 50-gallon, one 75-gallon, and a 120-gallon tank). We decided to test this unit on the 120-gallon tank. The amount of programming variety can be a bit overwhelming at first, but the instruction manual thoroughly covers each option – READ IT FIRST! I found the light bar to be very bright and customizable, even though we will probably not use all its functionality. Not much else to say, but it is bright and it worked! The only criticisms that I have is the odd battery type used (a CR1220 vs. a CR2032 or a CR2025) and the difficulty installing it. Why not use the ultra-common CR2032 that is used widely in almost every car key fob?!Since I am evaluating this product as part of the Amazon Vine program, I am limited to a 30-day window to submit a review. To determine long-term meter durability and accuracy, I intend to monitor this product over the next 12 months. Should anything change over this period, I will update this review accordingly.Cost-effectiveness and value: Overall, I am very satisfied with the product; it is sleek and delivers a wide spectrum of bright programmable light. At a current price of $102.99, it is of good value for the quality and functionality delivered. In summary: the “WRGB LED Full Spectrum 20-Level Programmable Aquarium Fish Tank Light” made by SEAOURA is well-made, bright, and very versatile. It takes a bit of patience to program, but a well-written manual walks you through it. All this is delivered at a fair price. I would recommend this product without reservation.Pros 👍:✔ Well made from quality materials.✔ Sleek, low profile.✔ Large aluminum housing that doubles as a heatsink that keeps the LEDs cool.✔ Light housing is IP67 water resistant rated.✔ Very bright!✔ 24/7 programming of power ON/OFF day/night cycles, 10 different colors, and 20 brightness levels to suit any aquarium needs.✔ Temperature probe.✔ Generous 8.2-foot controller power cord.✔ Retains programming when power is off.✔ Comes with a spare CR1220 lithium battery.Cons👎:✘ Uses an oddball battery. The battery compartment is tricky to open and change out the battery.Manufacturer Suggestions 🖐:✔ Make the light programmable from an APP using WiFi or Bluetooth connectivity. Make it integrate into your home automation.

i ordered the 22w version. The light is very bright, with a bunch of colour options so you can shift the colour into whatever works best for your tank. my favourite for my needs was the all colours combined option. there are also multiple brightness settings, so you can dial it up or down based on your needs (or your tank depth). The colour spectrum seems great and makes my fresh water plants pop, so far them seem to be thriving under this light. being able to really dial in the red/blue/white balance is also great. for tanks i have to stare at all day, i like to give a warmer tone (no blue) as opposed to tanks i check in on, which i dont mind the extra blue in. i tend to buy higher end fixtures, but I’m not noticing any significant difference light quality wise once dialed in compared to lights 2-3x the price.I usually use smart plugs for all my tanks, but with this light im just using the built in timer, depending on what your growing 8-12h is great.the housing seems to be aluminum, and feels pretty good for the price, is heavy enough to not be overly worried about damaging it without worrying about putting a super heavy light on top of the glass. the metal extender bars for mounting are not the best Ive ever seen, but in this price range their more than adequate and will definitely hold the light in place well.the temperature sensor is an interesting addition. it seems accurate compared to my high end kitchen thermometer, and its nice to have it built in with alarms. i dont want to always look at the thermometer so this is a nice in-between safety feature.im becoming a real fan of SEAOURA lights after trying a few.

4 stars because the timer is confusing, I think it looks and feels like quality and worth the money once you figure the timer out. Using on a Red Sea 130D for plants and they like it too!

I bought this for my 15 gallon planted tank and it’s been working really well. The light is bright enough to support my low to medium light plants without any issues. I can see better growth on my java ferns and anubias since switching to this from my old basic LED.The customization options are nice. You can adjust the red, white, green, and blue channels separately and dial in the exact color you want. There are also preset colors if you don’t want to mess with all that. I usually just cycle through the presets to find something that makes the tank look good. The timer function has been useful. I set it to gradually ramp up in the morning and dim at night, which seems more natural for the fish. The controller remembers your settings even after a power outage thanks to the battery backup, so you don’t have to reprogram everything. The temperature probe is a bonus feature I didn’t expect to use much, but it’s actually handy having the water temp displayed on the controller. Saves me from using a separate thermometer.Installation was simple, the adjustable brackets fit my rimless tank without any issues. The cord is long enough that I can plug it in without needing an extension. My only minor complaint is that the controller has a lot of buttons and it took me a bit to figure out all the functions, but once you get the hang of it, it’s fine. Overall, solid light for the price.
