PROTECT: Seachem StressGuard is a premium slime coat protection product, working to reduce stress and ammonia toxicity whenever handling or transporting fish.
HEAL: Seachem StressGuard binds to exposed protein in wounds to promote healing of injured fish while reducing the likelihood of primary and secondary infections.
TREATMENT: The protein active colloidal agent in StressGuard actively seeks out any wounds, abrasions, or places where exposed proteins are and attaches to this area, helping to directly deliver the disinfectant in the product and start the healing process.
AQUARIUM CARE: Use 1/2–1 capful (2.5–5 mL) of StressGuard to every 40 L (10 US gallons) every 24 hours until signs of stress have abated or healing is complete. A dose of StressGuard may be safely doubled.
SAFETY: StressGuard has a pH of 7.0. It will not affect the pH of an aquarium, even at large doses, allowing for safe use in a reef or planted aquarium containing invertebrates

Customers say

Customers find the water treatment effective at healing and regrowth, and appreciate its quality and value for money. Moreover, the product helps with stress relief, particularly during new water changes, and one customer notes it lasts longer than other brands. The color aspect receives mixed feedback – while some say it keeps fish brightly colored, others mention it turns water slightly blue. Additionally, the seal quality receives negative feedback, with multiple customers reporting broken seals upon arrival.

    Saved the day!
Stocking a 1,000-gallon freshwater community tank is no joke—for me or the fish. To help kickstart the cycle and establish good bacteria, I added 120 Longfin Congo Tetras and 550 Neon Tetras. But by day two, I noticed some of the Congos were showing signs of fin rot—tail fins disappearing fast. Not good.Turns out the stress of the move weakened their immune systems, making them vulnerable to the bacteria that cause this disease. I quickly realized that netting affected fish in a 13-foot-long aquarium just wasn’t going to happen, so I started looking for a broad-spectrum solution. That’s when I found Seachem StressGuard and decided to give it a try. I started treatment the very next day.I still lost a few fish—about 3 or 4—but they were already in pretty rough shape, with almost no tail fin left. The good news? The rest of the tank stabilized quickly, and I started seeing signs of healing and regrowth across the board.I used StressGuard for a full week—double-dosed the first three days, then tapered off for the next four. It wasn’t cheap, but it absolutely saved me from a much bigger loss. The fish bounced back, the disease stopped spreading, and the tank finally got a chance to settle and cycle properly.I’ve already picked up two more gallons of StressGuard for future use. From now on, I’ll be using it prophylactically every time I stock new fish. Discus are next—wish me luck! Huge thanks to Seachem—this product seriously saved the day!

    Seachem For Life
Seachem StressGuard Slime Coat Protection is an excellent product and definitely helped my fish through ick. I was using Seachem paraguard to cure my fish ick problem and after a couple of days, I could see my fish seems stress and losing color and after I did some research people said Seachem StressGuard Slime Coat Protection was the product for the job so I bought it right away from Amazon. Once I received the product I used it right away and after a couple of days I could see my fish colors coming back and he seemed a lot happier. After 3 weeks my fish is ick free and stress free as well great product will defiently buy again.

    A must have for Discus
So just to clear things up for anyone who is unsure. Paraguard & stress guard can be used together. I recently got back into discus and in knowing how sensitive they can be I wasn’t sure what to use during quarantine. I watched a couple of videos & did some reading & reviews on line & the paraguard was highly recommended. There wasn’t anyone using it with stress guard but I figured I’d give it a try. So here is how I used it. I ordered the first 7 discus & I didn’t do as much research on the seller as I should have (I won’t mention sellers name but just believe cheaper is NOT the way to go) anyway when I got them they were skinny, doing a whole lot of rubbing and 2 had ich. That being said I turned the heat up to 92°(this high for fish who can handle high temp only) & treated with both stress guard & paraguard for 2 weeks (put temp slowly back down to 84° when done). All fish survived & are doing great. Now as for the second batch of 9 discus . They came in healthy (more reputable seller) so I did just 3 days of both. Now if you are doing a 2 week quarantine like you should if you see any trouble you can restart both until you see they are doing better (2 weeks if sick is best). Make sure you remove carbon from filter when using paraguard. If your using stress guard alone for injury you do not need to remove carbon. I hope this helps . I highly recommend both products

Great Water Conditioner—Just Watch for Staining
I’ve been using this aquarium stress coat for a few weeks now and the results are impressive. It instantly calms my fish during water changes, and I’ve noticed less visible stress in the tank. It also helps with fin repair and removes chlorine/chloramine effectively. One word of caution—the blue dye in this product does stain, so be extra careful when pouring or measuring. A few drops on your hands or countertop will leave a mark if not wiped up immediately.Despite that, it’s a solid product and does exactly what it claims. I recommend using a dedicated measuring cup or syringe and handling over a sink. A great addition to any aquarium care routine!

    Love this product!
I have rainbow fish that are susceptible to getting fungal infections, and I use Seachem Stress Guard double strength when the fish show initial signs of getting a fungal infection, and it miraculously cures them almost every time!!

Amazing stuff was not too sure at first if it would harm my fish as I read a bunch of different comments. my one disc hurt it’s Finn and I noticed it was kind of looking like it was torn and rotten ,so I put this stuff in my 55 gallon aquarium five cap fulls daily for six days and after day two his been look so much better And today on day 6 you can’t even tell he was injured. It actually calmed the other fish down and they didn’t pick on him definitely recommend doesn’t make your water cloudy or affect life plants. As you can see the blue guy is back to normal and enjoying life with his buddies again
