Not your typical ingredients
We have a cat in the very early stages of kidney failure. We switched his diet and started adding this supplement. Since the ingredients seem a bit âcrunchyâ I wanted to confirm if it was actually safe for cats. I have our vet review the ingredients and she seemed suspect as she wasnât sure of how of these would be beneficial. However she discussed it in a vet chat board type of thing and another vet had commented on this as well. The general consensus was that itâs safe for cats, but not sure how much good it will do. So since itâs not harmful and could be helpful, we give it to our cat. We mix this in with his food and he eats it.

Not Very Effective for My Cat
I had hoped this supplement would provide good kidney support for my cat, but I didnât notice much improvement after regular use. The beadlets are a bit tricky to give, and my cat wasnât very interested in them, which made daily use difficult.While the ingredients seem beneficial on paper, the results just werenât there for us. It might work differently for other cats, but in my experience, it didnât make a noticeable difference in kidney or overall health.

Tiny Beadlets for Kitties’ Health!
This year, both of my parents have been ill, and I have been taking care of both my own household and theirs. Between both households, there are seven cats. Being a cat person for pretty much all my life, I’ve seen far too many pass away from renal failure or other issues with their kidneys. I do all I can to help keep all of our kitties happy and healthy.These beadlets are certainly interesting! It’s the first time I’ve seen a product like this. I’ve had pretty good success getting kitties their proper dosage by mixing it with a little bit of wet food, so they are excited about eating and don’t notice it. I jokingly call it kitty caviar when I serve it. I can’t detect an odor, but I know the kitties weren’t interested at all when I presented the jar to them to investigate.In the home with five cats, one unknown suspect seemed to be leaving me some urine to clean up. I got this to give a try while I attempted to figure out which kitty was doing it, but it stopped happening. I believe they had some irritation, and it seems to have subsided. While I can’t guarantee this is what helped, I am continuing to use this product for maintenance and support. It’s very easy to use, and when mixed with wet food, it’s super easy to administer.

Rx Vitamins Renal Feline Beadlets – Cat Kidney Support with Astragalus Root and Milk Thistle for Cats – Supports Kidney and Immune Health in Cats: I am familiar with the Rx Vitamins brand as I have used another supplement with success. So it seemed like a safe bet to try this kidney supplement for my older cat who was showing mild, early signs of kidney issues. I regret not checking with my vet before trying this product.I started him at a very low dose. It was easy to use the included scoop for proper dosage. I added water to his wet food to help dissolve the little beads, as he was willing to eat the first one or two doses but then decided he didn’t like the taste or smell. He ate the food with the supplement mixed in for about a week before he started showing signs of health decline. I stopped giving this supplement to him and got him to the vet as soon as I could get an appointment but he was already in crisis. Maybe this supplement helps other cats, but it was not the right fit for mine, who needed critical care (thousands of dollars in expenses, and he’s not out of the woods yet). Do not use this product without consulting your vet first.Final update: my cat sadly passed away from rapid kidney failure just a few days after I posted this review. 🙁

Quality product but my cat has allergies
I recognize that these have very good well known ingredients in them (used by humans in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine for centuries), however, my cat has quite a bit of food intolerances and allergies. I had tried the vitamin version of this product as Iâm able to pill my cat with ease, but those made him vomit when I tried to increase the frequency. Meanwhile, I am on the admin team of a 40k member Feline Chronic Kidney Disease group and weâve had many members use the pill version and similar products with really good results. I was happy to try a different format of this renal support nutraceutical. I could mix a little in his wet food and heâd eat them with no issue but again when I went to a full dose, they seemed to make him nauseous and vomit. As he had progressed in his CKD it could be coincidence but I was unwilling to continue further. I think if my cat had been diagnosed in an earlier stage this would have been a wonderful add-on to his regimen to ease the progression of his CKD and give some protective support. I do trust this company and want to encourage them to continue researching and making these products. Our beloved felines really need it.
