Nice stand for cheap, sturdy base slightly wobbly pole.
Easy to put together, has a nice finish, doesn’t feel cheap. The only thing is that even though it’s all tightened up is still slightly wobbly. It’s not due to weight the base is quite sturdy, it’s the pole itself. Still giving 5 stars as it looks nice and works well.

Sturdy stand!
My turtles aquarium is up high on a aquarium stand. This light stand worked perfectly for hanging the light on and was able to reach. It is sturdy and stable. Perfect!

Good light stand.
This is a really nice lamp holder. It will bend slightly under a lamp’s weight, but I secured it at the rear base and put it up against my terrarium to help since my light weighs 3.5 pounds. It also has a slightly larger base than some of the others I looked at, which is helpful. There are a couple of cautions. Only one of the uprights has a plastic bushing for the swing arm, so you need to use that shaft at the top. Also, the hanging hook that’s clamped at the swing arm has a really smooth shaft. There’s nothing to keep it from slowly sliding out of the clamp over time since there’s little friction, even if you tighten it up. The material of the swing arm is thin too, and I really didn’t want to crank down on the thin clamp. Since the hook itself had a small hole in the end, I drilled it out slightly larger, tapped it, and installed a screw with a slightly larger head. Now the screw head rests on the top of the clamp and the hook will never slide out. I’m very pleased so far.

Pretty solid construction, very happy but careful…
This adjustable lamp stand and the SAFE two-lampshade attachment were the critical elements in the (steep!) learning curve to take proper care of an orphan Anole lizard that hitchhiked home with us with some plants from the local nursery. To make sure the stand does not tip–its potential for tipping is why only 4 stars–we pushed its metal base under the cage and the head pad. The necessity for such a stand became clear about three weeks into the adoption, after some false starts with entry-level gear in the world of reptile heating, sun-bathing, proper habitat and food requirements (live-insects…). These included a wrong-shape terrarium (Anoles climb high), a dangerously unstable and low-wattage plastic lamp for heat &/or UVA light bulbs. “Anole” now seems to be thriving and we have gotten used to the sound of crickets both in her current cage and…around the house. Next steps include ‘gut-loading’ her live food to provide needed calcium…and figuring out what to feed the crickets…but…the learning curve is flattening. This lamp stand and its two hanging dome shades with sufficient wattage and ceramic sockets to accommodate both a 100 watt heat lamp and a UVA-UVB daylight basking light will enable the Anole to live with us in Maine, where last night’s temperature was 17 degrees outside, 66 degrees inside but her (still-temporary) cage never went below 70++ degrees because of the steady ceramic heat lamp over it and our cat’s heating cushion under it. A UVA-UVB daylight basking light turns on during the day alongside the heater. “Anole” now comes up to the top of the cage when I greet her in the morning, has been seen crunching a cricket, and retreats to a dark but warm and humid corner of her still-temporary cage at night. I’m glad we didn’t put her out in the cold to die, but hope we can eventually find her a home back in her native southern habitat….

Turtle light stand
This was easy to build and seems as if it will hold up for a long time. I’m using it to hold a dual lamp for aquatic turtles. It works perfectly!
