Fell apart at 5 months, no longer holds bulbs in
I turned it on and the light bulb came crashing out of the lamp fixture. I thought it was just that the bulb wasn’t screwed in tight but it is worse… the metal ring that hold the bulb into the lamp was actually attached to the bulb. See picture 1. I unscrewd the ring for picture 2. Picture 3 is of the lamp. Without this metal ring the lamp cannot work… the bulb can’t be screwed in. I think the metal ring also gets the electricity to the bulb. So No more light for my frog unless this company replaces this lamp. I cannot figure out what held this metal ring in place either… no screws or glue. I don’t know what was keeping this ring in or what was holding the bulb in. I guess that is why the lamp bulb and ring crashed to the ground! This is dangerous. It could have easily fallen into my frogs cage and hit him. And it was HOT! It would have burned my poor frog, probably would have killed him. This is definitely a manufacturer’s defect. This arrived in April, It is now October. It should have lasted longer than that!

Won’t last long.
I love the timer and the ability to raise and lower the intensity of the light but the lamp stopped working 6-7 month’s after purchasing.

Cured my turtle
I just got my turtle a while ago, and I am still learning more about how to care for it. My turtle started doing flips in the water, and was acting weird. After I did some research, i found that I needed a heating lamp, so I got this one. My turtle is not acting weird anymore and seems happy. The lamp didnât burn the plastic basking area, and it makes the tank really warm, so I am pretty sure it works well. It was easy to move and the cord reaches the outlet just fine. It came with a second light bulb for when its time to replace the first one. So far it lasted me about a month. The clamp is very sturdy. The bending part of it (idk what its called) is pretty long, but I put it on my tank backwards to make it fit better. (My tank is small right now but Iâm looking for a bigger one)

Ok, get what you pay for
Iâm on my 3rd basking light fixture, hoping this one last longer. It works great and my turtle enjoys basking under it.Pros: flexible neck to adjust and get the bulb directly where you want it. The gripping clamp is good and doesnât slip like some other basking lamps Iâve had. Like the timer function!Cons: I wish the cord was a bit longer. Unless your outlet is directly by the light, you may need an extension cord. My light bulbs are not lastingâ¦..the ones that came with the light only last a couple weeks. I bought new bulbs and those didnât last much longer. Not sure if it is the bulb or the fixture. But seems odd as I have never had this issue before.Overall good light for the money.

the turtle loves it!
Our heat lamp light blub exploded and it smelled like the the fixture was burnt on the inside, so for safety, we ordered a whole new one. Turtle man was without a light for about a week and he spent a lot of time in the water. Once the lamp came in and we hooked it up (which it took less then 5 minutes to do) the turtle was on his rock sunbathing within minutes! it was fast and easy and the timer works well to give the turtle the day time night time consistency he needs.

Tortoise habitat light.
The first one I bought I had to return because the light bulb socket was not made well and the bulb wobbled and was very difficult to keep it to stay on always had to tap the bulb or wiggle it around in its socket to get it to come on. I returned it for another one which I also had to return because the remote got so hot once it was turned on that it started to melt. Not happy with this product or needs a little more improvements made before they sell it.

Great while it lasted – Sad tortoise.
Worked well for my desert tortoise for a few months. Durable clip, nice rotation of light. Over the last week I noticed the light flickering, slower to turn on and then a smell begun. Unplugged the light to change the bulb and the light fixture was burnt on the inside. Super scary! I never leave the light on more than 6 hours and only when I’m home because of this fear! Now I have a sad tortoise who misses his happy light and I’m hesitant to buy another. I wish there was a warranty on this light like some of the other brands offered on Amazon.

Es una lámpara de reptiles de muy buena calidadð¢Esta es la segunda lámpara de mi tortuga. Si la primera hubiese tenido el controlador de tiempo tan bien aislado, no se me hubiera mojado. Eso acabó con la vieja en el camión del punto limpio ðâ»ï¸Además la pinza es metálica y muy potente, se agarra genial a la pared de cristal. El flexo es fuerte y se orienta en cualquier dirección ⤵ï¸El casquillo se calienta como advierten las instrucciones. Está señalizado con su pegatina â ï¸Incluye 2 bombillas, una de 25W y otra de 50Wð¡El envÃo está muy bien protegido. Merece la pena pagar un poco más por un producto bien hecho.

So much better than the old school versions. Iâve had my turtle for 11 years and have gone through many of the old school ones. Will stick to this version much easier to use just clamp on the tank and I love it has different settings and a timer. It also comes with two different bulbs.
