Unsure of safety.
It was alright but could be better. The slate began to chip off the ends, and there is grain that comes off very easily. If anything, Iâd be worried about impaction issues with my bearded dragon. It does work in the sense of keeping good temperature.

It took forever to get here and it came with 2 pieces. Itâs a nice size piece of slate for my turtle.

Slate for my tortoise
I ordered them for my new tortoise. He is about 4 inches round and these are a perfect size for him. Theyâve done well for his basking spot and eating spot. They seem well made and good quality, although the edge of one was cracked off so itâs missing a corner. Overall gets the job done and looks nice (:

Description Incorrect (Only 1 received, not 2)
This only comes with one tile and does not come with two tiles as is described. The tile is thin (which seems fine for small reptiles) and has raised grips attached to the bottom. It feels easily breakable so be careful. Overall, I’m upset about only receiving one tile when I was supposed to get two like the description stated.

Product exactly how described
I used this product for my baby Sulcata tortoise. The slate were bigger than what I needed but will gro with her. I placed the slate under her heat lamp. She loved it immediately! Good quality and is described accurately. Just make sure you measure, which I didn’t. Good product tho!

Great for beak control on my Russian tortoise
Rubyâs beak was getting a bit overgrown when my son suggested this for her to eat off of. It did the job of wearing back her beak pretty quickly and I am very happy I purchased it.
