Good fixture
This review is for the “QZQ T5 UVB Reptile Light Fixture Combo Kit 8W, 10.0 UVB Light for Reptiles”Reviews like this can be difficult as there are essentially two main components to this product and one of them (the bulb itself) is nearly impossible to evaluate without a device that typically costs over $200. Being that I do not own a solar meter and cannot accurately say whether or not the bulb puts out enough UVB to properly care for a reptile, I’ll be focusing mostly on the actual hood fixture rather than the bulb. And I will not be factoring the bulb into this review.That said, I will say this regarding the bulb – You’ll probably want to replace it soon anyway, since these off brand bulbs have a reputation for not outputting as much UVB as some other well known, tried and tested brands. Unless you own a solar meter and can actually test the UVB output, it just isn’t worth chancing your reptile getting sick. And don’t use the UV cards to test it either, they pick up other UV frequencies as well such as UVA and do not work for accurately gauging UVB output.Now that that’s out of the way, I will go on to review the actual light fixture. The fixture itself is just over 12” long, which is perfect for my tortoise enclosure. The outside hood feels like it’s made from decently quality materials and the inside is designed to be super reflective so that any UVB light is redirected towards the inside of the enclosure.I only have two small concerns with this product. The first is that this hood is stated to support an 11.5” bulb, which is incorrect. I’ve measured the bulb and it’s 12”, not 11.5”, which makes sense because no other UVB bulb manufacturer that I could find makes an 11.5” bulb and I was afraid I would never be able to find a replacement that would fit inside this fixture. My guess is that they measured the bulb without the prongs which are each about 5/8th inches long. To avoid confusion, the fixture should say that it supports 12” bulbs.The only other thing I’m slightly concerned about is the mechanism to insert the bulb and rotate/lock it into place does feel like it’s on the cheaper side. When locking the bulb in, it felt like I was breaking something inside. But so far it has not broken and is holding the bulb securely. So I won’t hold it against the product other than to say that the mechanism feels a little on the cheap side.Overall, this product does meet my expectations. It’s a good size and with the right UVB bulb I expect it will be providing my tortoise with valuable UVB rays for many years to come.

Perfect for the price
Works as described. I recently upgraded my daughter’s snake and beardy to larger proper 2x2x4 habitats. Lighting being super expensive is gonna be a bit of a process. I wanted to add additional UV to these larger tanks to cover some darker corners until I can invest in some large LED strips. This supplements the lighting that i had well. This size by no means would provide adequate UV for this large of tank on its own, but i knew that going into it. that said, they can be connected together to make a long light if you bought multiple smaller lights using the included connector. It has a heavy duty grounded plug with an inline switch. The protective film was able to be removed from the reflector without removing the bulb. I like that it came with mounting hardware to install inside the tank it i wanted to. Being a temporary arrangement, i just placed it on the screen top for the time being. for the price i am happy.

Simple, includes timer! Strong UVB, good size coverage
