Providing UV Intensity
To use this card, all you do is put the testing card under the UV light and observe. If there is enough UV being put out, the color will appear clearly on the testing card. When the card absorbs enough UVB, it finally changes its color from white to purple.
Replace the bulb annually or sooner if the card doesn’t show any color, a card can be used up to 500 times when used in 10-seconds increments.
Providing the right type of heat to a reptile is just as important as the temperatures.

Works well, inexpensive compared to solarimeter
I use these to check on my UVB lights every few months. I have used these for a couple years now with success. My older ones still work fine, I have just temporarily misplaced them.The instructions are easy to follow (place under UVB light for 10 seconds) and the chameleon will turn purple if the lights are still putting out UVB.This is a good option for someone who wants to check their lights but cannot fork out $200+ for a solarimeter

Cool, inexpensive test
I got these because they were fairly inexpensive, and I have a bearded dragon. Florescent tubes are pricey, but UVB is vital for the health of the animal. This is a fantastic way for me to verify that the tube is still outputting sufficient UVB to keep our little buddy happy. I guess I am trusting that it’s doing what it says it is doing, but it doesn’t change color under an incandescent bulb and does under the UV tube.

Easy to use; detects UVB and UVC
These are very easy to use, and help me determine the relative effectiveness of my new/old UV bulbs. My only concern is that they technically are activated by both UVB & UVC, while I’m specifically interested in strength of UVB for my turtle. Definitely good value for the money, and an easy way to test reptile bulbs for UV.

These got one star due to being defective. We ordered and tested with brand new bulbs, no color change on either card. Returned and got another set, same thing. Very disappointed that these didn’t work better.

Quick and Simple
You knowï¼UV light become weaker and weaker…I measured all my bulbs at the basking point , and I found out one of them from amazon, doesn’t produce UVB any longer, bad anyway. I bought a new one, this time, the bulb seems great as you can see. I will definetely recommed you to buy again if these cards last long as they said.

Bought this to test my UV resin curing lights as well as my glasses to make sure they’re UV resistant. Both included cards worked perfectly. Without the UV resistant glasses in the way the card turns purple where I shine the light, with the glasses in the way it doesn’t change.

I recommend this product if you donât have the money for a solar meter. Itâs effective at gauging UVB. Itâs obviously the cheaper way to go, but it is effective.
