Braids that behave
I really love this product. I have five horses and while I do not compete or go to shows, I still enjoy giving them extra attention and braiding them so they look their best. This goes on smoothly and makes the hair much easier to work with.It keeps the braids neat with fewer flyaways and helps the style hold longer. Works great and smells great with added shine!
I used this braising wax stick a week ago to braid my mare’s tail and it worked wonderfully. Every after the braid being in place for a solid week, it’s still holding up and looking great after this long week. I am so happy because I finally found the perfect wax with the perfect amount of stickiness and moisturizer for my horses.It smells really good. It’s so easy to use and it really holds firmly which is exactly what I was looking for. This wax stic is perfect for my reasoning given I always braid my horses mane before we go on trail rides. It’s small and portable and can fit into my grooming bags without taking up much space. Overall, this is a really great value for the quality of the product and I definitely recommend this.

Tidy Braids
The Quick Knot braiding stick makes braiding a horseâs mane super easy and helps it look neat and professional. It smooths down flyaways so the braids appear neat and tidy. Just make sure to wash the mane thoroughly after taking the braids out to remove any leftover residue, since the stick leaves behind a waxy texture to help keep the hair in place.

I usually use my wax stick that I use for my own hair on my horses because I know with 100% certainty that it works and doesnât leave residue or add greasiness to the hair. I decided to try an actual horse braiding item for hair and Iâm a little on the fence about how I feel about it. Itâs small and compact, so it makes it great for an on the go item or on the road shoes. Itâs neat in application and design due to the stick with the twisting bottom to bring it up or down. It glides on the hair smoothly and it smells absolutely wonderful. Now smelling wonderful sometimes can attract flies or gnats but with all the essential oils in this I donât see it being too big of a problem especially if paired with fly spray. My complaints are the streak marks it leaves when applied directly to the mane or tail. It leaves a sheen of white âwaxâ on the hair, especially if said hair is black. Itâs very visible. Also leaves tiny minuscule amounts in clumps along the path you apply it to. It is a bit greasy when worked into the hair, and I didnât see a huge result that awed me after braiding. It still looked just as frizzy the next morning as all the other products Iâve tried. It did give some stiffness to the braid when I undid it where usually the hair will untwine itself after I remove the elastic. Iâm gonna give it a few more solid tests to see how it holds up, so this review is not complete but these are my initial thoughts for it.

Easy to Apply and Style with Good Hold
This wax stick was quite easy to apply with no need to warm or aggressively pull the wax through the hair. The easy application was a relief as I’ve encountered quite a range with waxes in the past. Typically the downside with an easy to apply wax is a lack of hold, but I found that this held quite well, especially if you can keep the style in place for a bit while it further dries/sets, whether that’s through a knot, clip or rubber band. The wax stick also has a very pleasing scent to it and was easy to move through the hair without it clumping or pulling. As an aside, it also works great in my long mustache, offering some of the best performance for an easy to apply wax (although that’s not the intended use for the product).

This braid wax is great. Really helps hold and grip when you braid. Fly aways are also contained better. Love this product

Pocket sized and retractable
This stick is perfect for touch ups and for doing entire braids. It’s a little shorter than a standard chapstick but much wider. It’s got a twistable base that can both extend and retract the product. It smells a little strong, kind of like a luxury human shampoo, so if you or your horses are sensitive to scents, it might be a little strong. The only down fall I can see is that the container is black (and tiny), so it could easily be lost in a tack bag, or washed in the wash machine if someone doesn’t check their pockets.

Great for braiders toolbox
The packaging is really great quality. It comes with a nice internal protection cap. This formula appears to be a nice mix of butters, oils and waxes. Let me tell you, first impression smell wise⦠amazing. Its one of those horse products youâll get caught sniffing. The formula is buildable as well. So you can adjust the product thickness. It adds just the right amount of firmness to mane and tail hair. Its not super sticky, more waxy. It helps lay down those hairs very well. I donât have hair slipping from the braid at all. I think this is a fabulous product and good value for what youâre getting.
