Better than any other cricket keeper!
I’ve been feeding crickets to my tarantulas for years, and despite trying lots of different ways to keep the crickets alive in regular cricket keepers, about half of them would always die in a stinky mess. It was a waste of time and money, and the smell was terrible. I was skeptical about the Neptonion keeper, but I was willing to try anything. And I’m so glad I did! I left out the middle baffle and placed the crickets’ egg carton material between the other two baffles. I don’t use the shaker feature but instead prefer to open the top and remove crickets as needed. And nearly 4 weeks after filling the keeper with crickets, I was able to feed the last of them—still healthy—to my spiders!! Only a couple died the whole time. I’ve NEVER been able to keep crickets alive and healthy that long, AND the keeper wasn’t reaking of cricket grossness! I love the feeding tray (though the crickets do eat a bit of the sponge), the way the vertical orientation keeps insects off the floor of the keeper, and the “poop trap” that keeps it relatively clean and MUCH better smelling. I’m a better tarantula owner now because I have healthier feeders that I don’t have to buy as often. I love this thing!

Best way to keep Dubai roach feeders
When we were researching getting our leopard gecko, we learned that they really need live insects and we opted for Dubia roaches for her primary food type over crickets since they don’t jump, chirp, or smell. This container is great for keeping them. Super easy to use. Pros and cons listed below:PROS:Easy to load from the topEasy to store the roachesEasy to add food/water from the topEasy to clean from the bottomNo escapingPerfect sizeCON:The food/water tray is removable and leaves a gaping hole in the unit when removed, where the insects will most certainly escape.I have to put tape over the outside of the tray, for it not to open by mistake when handling the unit. Many roaches also hide under it, so you have to take it out to get to them, which can lead to escapees.Would probably have been better to build it into the unit, so they can’t hide beneath it.Since the container always has some insects in it, I add food/water to the tray from the top. So, there’s really no need for it be removable. It can easily be cleaned from the top as well.

    This is great!
I’m loving this! I have a baby bearded dragon who is eating like upwards of 50 crickets a day and this thing has been great! The people who say if your feeders are dying it’s something you are doing are absolutely correct. Make sure your temperature, airflow, and food is all good and this should work great! There are usually crickets in the food dish when you take it out, but I have just started taking it out and setting it in the tank, using tweezers to either pick up the bugs or chase them into the tank, then you can pour the bugs out the spout without the food going everywhere. Another tip is you don’t need to put egg cartons or anything else in there, and don’t. If you do it messes up the design and the bugs can easily escape when you pull out the plug from the spout, that was the cause of the only escapee I’ve had from this, so I always just remind the pet store people that I don’t want the egg carton when buying bugs and just take them straight home. It’s super easy to clean with a sponge and a little dawn and water, and I’ve even started pre calcium coating them right before dumping them in the container since it holds about 100 and she will go through that many within a few days max. The clear window on top is also great so you can check about how many are left without unscrewing the top. I’m definitely recommending this to all my reptile owner friends

    This could be amazing…
If you are like me, you struggle keeping crickets alive. I have one of the smaller keepers and they die in a couple days. I have 3 jumping spiders, so buying 20-30 crickets should last me a long time as they eat one a week. So, I got this hoping it will solve the issue. The idea is there, but let me tell you why I gave it one star.1. The main reason: The lid. How on earth they let this go to production with a lid like this is incredibly dumb. Why? Well, the two slots that slide together to lock it are so shallow, any bump will knock it free. For example, I was pushing the plug back in after I got a cricket out and it pops free. Why couldn’t they make a simple lid with a rubber gasket on top? Or better ridges that are more robust? No idea. It is just idiotic to be entirely honest.2. The price. This is cheaply made, including all the included tools. The tongs are a joke, the scissor things are neat but pretty impractical – at least for crickets. This is worth no more than $20. I can’t wait until someone improves upon the design and prices it fairly.3. The food tray. I haven’t tested this yet, but as other reviewers state, the design – while good in theory, won’t be effective. The flap that follows the tray to close is pushed inside when the tray is inserted. This means that bugs will be on the outside of the flap when removed. It defeats the purpose entirely. Its like these guys didn’t test their own product design – from the lid to the flap.My review will remain at one star unless the lid is fixed and I am sent an updated version. These shouldn’t be sold until then to be entirely honest.

    Item came faulty
As much as I wanted to love this container. The little flap to close the food access came with a missing magnet so it doesn’t hold properly. So I won’t even be able to try it.. having to return it.. got 3 stars because I can’t say I got to use and and wouldn’t know the value of it..

Love this thing. Easy to use once you get the hang of it. Disappointed they don’t have more! I want a couple more for my other feeder bugs. Hope they can get more in!

We just got a bearded dragon pet and i bought this for 38.99. And we found this really helpful for keeping our crickets. Whether it’s feeding or cleaning (and having them not jump out), I found this really helpful and helps to keep them healthy and alive for longer.
