Great UVB Light for Bearded Dragons â Perfect Fit and Value
This UVB light has been a perfect fit for our existing reptile lamp setup. It provides just the right amount of UVB for our bearded dragon, and weâve noticed how much better it is compared to cheaper alternatives. Installation was quick and easy, and the bulb has been working consistently without any issues. What makes it even better is the price. We were pleasantly surprised to find it much less expensive on Amazon than in any of the local pet stores, yet the quality is excellent. It feels sturdy, gives off reliable light, and is definitely a great value for the money. If youâre looking for a dependable UVB light for your reptile, this one is a fantastic choice. Our bearded dragon is thriving, and weâre very happy with this purchase.

The light is noticeably better quality than others. It starts out bright and doesnât waver. I was replacing inferior bulbs regularly. This one is a quality light that saves money.

Nice light for nice price
Works great. Installed as expected. It’s not as bright as some others with the same wattage but for my Hermit crab, Mr Krab Daddy it does its job. Nice price point comparatively

My turtleâs eyes kept swelling, pet owners beware
Originally when I got this product I thought how cool itâs LED . Then my RES turtleâs eyes began to swell. I thought it was a Vitamin A deficiency since he refuses to eat greens. His pellets are of good quality with supplements but as a new turtle owner I thought maybe it was vitamin A. I ended up healing his eye with over the counter eye drops and I switched him to Mazuri food with a sufficient amount of vitamin A. Then a couple of weeks after BOTH his eyes began to swell again after a week of otc I ended up taking him to the vet . The vet said his food was good and setup was good as well. He got antibiotics for his eyes and I was to inject him with antibiotics every 3 days for 2 weeks. I saw no major improvement I made sure to move his lights properly away check the water, I use conditioners and wanted to make sure conditions were perfect. In the morning his eyes would be better after he slept but in the evening swollen again. I ended up getting more antibiotics and more eye drops . After 5 weeks of treatment I was done with shots and stopped the drops he was much better. In 2 days the swelling started to come back. I had read in the RES forums a correlation between this type of light and eye issues. Last night I gave him his antibiotic drops again and decided to try to turn off that light and only keep his heat lamp. Well sure enough! His eyes had not swelled Iâm returning the light and trying out halogen. So be mindful if thereâs a change in your turtleâs eyes it could be this light. Iâm so glad I turned it off and figured it out that after basking during the day his eyes would swell and obviously after sleeping they would be good in the morning.
My 2 cents –
Not very bright.
My instinct was to return it due to the minimal amount of light emitted. I am trusting the claim that it emits a sufficient about of D. The picture shows the single bulb in an unlit room. During natural daylight in the room, you can barely see emitted light. Probably not the equivalent of an old style Christmas tree bulb. Iâll keep it until it burns out, but wouldnât buy it again.

This is amazing!
Okay, let me begin with the story of this. I requested these, because turtles -need UVB light- as do most or all reptiles. And I always used a florescent UVA/UVB lights. I never thought in my brain I’d find a LED lamp that did the same. Now, my first one that came, didn’t work at all. Didn’t even light up, so I requested a replacement, which was very easy, and they mailed a new one out immediately and took this to the UPS center the same day, not even in its box, with a thingy they sent me that UPS people scanned the code and printed up a label and boxed it all for me, all FREE.The second one came, and it worked perfectly, and using UVB test strips, I found out it gives off as much USB as my other lamps (if not more, I don’t have one of those expensive $300 UVA/UVB machines, I just use the cheap strips that turn more purple by how strong the UVB is., but without the brightness. One turtle, named Lord Tyrannus, loved the lack of the bright light and seemed to be more happy with this one. Also, with the amazingly low wattage of it, I’m impressed. However, the ad says it doesn’t work with dimmers, which is fine, I don’t use dimmers. So, be sure you don’t buy these based on my review if you have dimmers. As they’re priced about the same as other florescent bulbs, but a lot less wattage and less brightness. I don’t see any negatives in swapping to these if you have a reptile system all setup. They come in 5 and 10 UVB, as the florescent bulbs. Definitely worth the money and a five star review.
