I was a little, unsure about how a bar soap would work while washing my pets, but I was very impressed! Firstly, I will say I do love the brand and have quite a few other products. The scent I got is a very fresh smell and I really liked it. One side of the bar of soap has a little groove so you can actually get a really good wash! Great price and great quality will continue to purchase for my pups.

First try of this stink-killing little bar of soap
I admit it, my pit bull is a bit of a princess. Although heâs all in when chasing a rat or squirrel around the yard, he also carefully avoids puddles and mud, if he can help it. Nevertheless, the daily sun-nap on the lawn and rubbing into the bushes to scratch that itch thatâs difficult to reach can leave him with a bit of a funk. Into the shower we go, and let me tell you ⦠youâve never seen a vicious, rat-killing dog act like such a baby â shivering in the corner of the shower like the water temperature isnât a pleasant 95ºF on a baby-soft sprayer hose! I know, baby ⦠getting clean in such torture.We are used to the liquid soaps for such spirit-dampening tasks, but this time we tried out this Pet-Pourri Deodorizing Shampoo Bar from the Poo-Pourri Store (interesting name, no??). I have to admit, I almost gleaned a smile on my dogâs face when he temporarily forgot that we were being tortured in a shower and instead he was focusing on the nice massage he was receiving from the scrubby nubs on one side of this soap bar. Perhaps getting all silky clean and soft and smelling nice ISNâT such a punishment, after all.Give it a try â if you can stomach the somewhat hefty price (thus the 4 star rating), I imagine youâll be happy with just how long it will last, assuming you donât leave it soaking in the water when youâre not using it.

The Pet-Pourri Deodorizing Shampoo Bar is an absolute game changer. I use it as a second wash for my German Shorthaired Pointer, and the difference is unreal. After his bath and once he dried off, he smelled so goodâbetter than any dog shampoo or soap Iâve ever tried. Usually, those scents fade fast or get overpowered by that classic “wet dog” smell, but this bar actually held up.The bar format was surprisingly easy to use. It lathers well, rinses clean, and doesnât leave behind any residue. I love that it’s not just masking odorâmy dog genuinely smelled fresh and clean after, without that artificial perfumey smell some products have.Itâs also gentle on his coat and skin, which is a big deal since GSPs can have sensitive skin. Took a lot of work to bathe the dog
First, I’ll mention the good about this product. It smells really nice and it’s shaped like a brush so that it’s easy to set down and also to use as a massager on your dog. I appreciate that the product description indicates that it’s plant based with no harsh chemicals as this is very important for products used on our dog. The bar does not generate much lather and promptly becomes a bar of hair. Gave it A second chance, however, the results were the same. It is important to know we have a short-haired dog with minimal shedding, but the amount of hair on the bar was definitely a problem.

Works great. Dog smells clean
This is a good soap bar for bathing your dog. It lathers nicely and smells good. My dog comes out smelling clean and fresh with this. I have soft water and it feels like the soap never wants to come off my hands though but that’s how all soaps feel with my soft water. It’s a good working soap and I’ll continue to use it with my dog.
