The product receives mixed feedback about its stickiness, with some saying it works great while others report it doesn’t stick to anything. While some find it easy to apply, others say it’s tricky to put on furniture, and many consider it an expensive waste of money.

Work very well and as advertised!
These work great for furniture. I purchased a new living room suite which, of course, was most attractive to my cats as new sharpening stations. After a couple of weeks of “fabric shaving” and spraying the furniture with all kinds of deterrents I realized I needed to take the situation to a new level. I have used these in the past on other furniture, and they do not disappoint. The cats immediately stopped scratching where the strips were placed because they definitely do not like having their paws on sticky things. I then realized I had missed a few places, which I quickly remedied. The only down point about these strips is that if they are on the furniture for a long period of time they are difficult or nearly impossible to remove, and will live a sticky residue. They are also kind of a pain to apply, and I ended up wasting a few that stuck themselves together during the application. I would suggest removing and re-applying every 4-6 months or so a residual build-up of the “glue”. However, I found that after removing strips after a few months from one of the areas they are leaving it alone now. I am hoping that I can eventually remove all the strips. In the meantime, I purchased (to go along with 3 other different types of scratching posts) a miracle post from Petsmart. My cats have gone nuts over it. Best $65.00 I have ever spent.

    Great for training kitties….
These work great and help teach my cat about areas that are off-limits to scratching.

Works so long as it fully sticks
11/25/18 update:New house, been here 6 months, cat now decides he wants to scratch stairs (at ends against baseboards), a little if this has stopped him so far. It has stuck well, he hasn’t pulled it up, but I am purchasing more to save the rest of my stairs.I read a few other reviews that said it’s hard to remove, which can be true if you leave it too long, directions say to remove and replace weekly. My solution for this was to buy cheap cutting mats at dollar store and put tape on them-only issue is cat may figure out how to move them.Orginal review:Trying to train my kitten on what he can and can not scratch. This has worked well on my leather furniture. I haven’t had any issues removing it as stated in other reviews, but again it’s not true leather furniture.I do have fabric cubes in my bedroom that are slightly textured and the tape doesn’t fully adhere which means my kitten has learned he can pull it off. However, it sticks to him and keeps him from scratching the fabric cubes (either i remove it or he figures out how to remove it)The backing is cracked down the middle to make it easy to apply. I purchased 2 rolls and feel like it has lasted awhile-though I’m not switching it out each week like it says to keep it from permanently sticking.

Don’t waste your money. This product is such a disappointment
I never give a review but have to on this product. Don’t waste your money!!!! The double sided tape does not pull off in one piece. Tried tearing very slowly and 1/2 stuck to the backing. Don’t get it on the first try . . . It won’t restick without it balling up. Don’t brush against it because it will pull off. This is was the most disappointing product I have ever bought. What a waste of money!!!!

Easy To Customize, Not A Lot in 1 Roll, Comes off TOO Easily, A Bit Pricey – But Seems to Work
I applied to the main areas of my couch that my cat has resolutely walked under or around his scratching pads and posts to get to. The tape is very easy to apply, just like packing tape. Once applied, pull off the backing strips to reveal the outer adhesive. My couch has a coarse linen texture so the tape started to pull off as I removed the backing strips so pressing down on the backing strips with one hand/finger as I pulled the backing strips off helped. I went through the whole roll of tape so if you have a lot of area to cover, buy more than one. The tape is fairly invisible but depending on your lighting/furniture placement it might be more visible. My biggest gripe is that the outer facing tape is super sticky so things get caught up on it and the tape just pulls away from the couch. I ended up buying a second roll and within a day the replacement strips were tangled sticky messes. For the amount you receive on one roll, and the fact that this is VERY TEMPORARY (like, maybe only hours worth depending on where you place the tape), the price is a bit steep. So, does it actually work? Well, I haven’t noticed my cat scratching on my couch. If by the the time these current applications are used up and the cat doesn’t return to clawing the furniture then this will be a success (albeit fraught with some frustration). If I run out of tape and the cat claws my couch still…I’ll move on to a different product/method.

This is on each corner of my fabric lounge and it’s barely visible unless you’re looking very closely. My two cats don’t even attempt to scratch the corners of my lounge anymore.
