This shelf is well made a sturdy. My 14 lb cat jumps on and off it often and it never moves or dips down. It’s nice and wide so my cat is able to sprawl out on it, which seems to make him very happy (The last one I got he was only able to sit like a loaf and it broke after a year). It was easy to ensemble and install, maybe took me 15 min at the most. The cover to put on the top is super soft and looks like something I could easily put in the washer when needed. This thing feels sturdy enough to last for years. I am super happy with every aspect of this shelf so five stars for sure.

Ah, sweet mystery of cat perches, at last I’ve found you! My house was built in 1936, and has original window frames, the counter levered vertical kind. I tried a suction cup perch once; those suction cups are not to be trusted. Most of them are cheaply made, anyway; if those work for you, take a pass on this review. If what you’re looking for is something adjustable (within a range, as the description states, “not fit all windows”), sturdy in construction and function, that will last for at least the life of your pet, this is the perch you’ve been looking for.Packaging was careful but not ridiculously overpackaged. The box had a ding or two, but the product was protected.Assembly was easy as pie; the one screwdriver needed for assembly is included in the packaging. I have plenty of screwdrivers, so the absence of one wouldn’t have been an issue for me. If you don’t have a mess of tools lying around, you can still assemble this perch.Once completed, all I had to do was place the perch on the sill. Another advantage of this perch is it’s portability. There are no adhesive strips, no velcro, no permanent damage to or modification of your existing window (especially important if you rent). It features a good bit of versatility, in terms of how long and wide a sill can be accommodated. Pay careful attention to the description to make sure this will work on the windows you have.The pad is rather thin; the velour is a bit coarse and looks like it might shed before too long, but that is such a non-issue in the face of its sturdiness and adjustability that it didn’t detract from a five-star rating. I put a small fleece under the pad, and it’s fine.It’s big enough for one cat to lay across it lengthwise, or two cats if they’re both facing out the window. You could put five cats on it in terms of weight, and it wouldn’t budge or bow at all.20 years from now, I might need to get a new one. But for all intents and purposes, this is the last cat window perch you will ever need to buy. I love it so much that I bought a second one immediately after I got my cats’ seal of approval. Buy this. Worth every penny–and it really isn’t much more expensive that the suction cup/PVC pipes/cheap plastic fabric/as seen on TV type of perch. Your cats will thank you. Well, they’ll probably just knock something off the counter, but they *will* love this perch.

Hurray!!! So happy to have finally found a truly renter-friendly window perch for my 12.5 lb cat. I can’t use any suction-cup shelves because the old windows in my apartment are unreliable, and I don’t want to drill/nail and damage my wall.I love that it’s made out of unfinished wood instead of plastic, so it feels solid and looks minimal and clean. I bet you can also easily stain the wood to match your furniture! The included mat isn’t very cushioned, but the fuzzy top is soft, the color is neutral, and I like that it can be removed for washing.The way this works is that the platform has metal pieces that hook into the gap in your window frame. Your window MUST have a space that the metal pieces can go into, or else this won’t work. After hooking the platform over the edge, you push the bottom piece as close to the wall as possible and tighten it, creating tension and support that will hold the platform up. If you have the right window sill, this should NOT require any screws or nails into the wall, or attaching velcro or adhesive strips. It stays up entirely due to tension. However, once you’ve adjusted it to the right size, it’s also easy to remove the shelf from the sill just by lifting it up, without needing to loosen the screws, in case you need to move it to open your window.Assembly was easy for me, but then I have a lot of experience with building IKEA furniture and such. All you need is a screwdriver. They provide instructions which also have a QR code that links to a an assembly video on YouTube. In total, it took me around 15 minutes to assemble and install.NOTE: Even though it says you can use this for a window sill up to 9″ deep, I would not recommend it for a sill larger than 4″ deep. If you have a window sill larger than that, the triangle wood piece will poke out past the edge of the platform. It might still work, but it won’t look good. My window sill is 4″ deep (4.5″ including the metal gap), and the edge of the wooden triangle is right up about 1/8″ shy of the edge of the platform.

Worth the money. Very sturdy and adjustable so it fits on different sized windows.

This product is great! I took a risk cuz I didn’t really understand what type of windowsill you need but it ended up working! I posted a pic of my windowsill^ . Well I don’t even think I have the exact proper windowsill cuz the hooks stick up off the windowsill(posted a video, sorry it’s kind of a crappy video). But it still works! You don’t have to screw anything into the wall and it comes with a QR code with a youtube video to build it. It was pretty easy! I’m not the best builder when it comes to this stuff but I figured it out! Even tho the black hook parts stick out the perch still stays on, sometimes it slightly moves when my cat jumps on it but I’ve had it for a few months now and it hasn’t fallen off or anything. The only downside is it’s kind of small! I mean it’s good cuz it doesn’t take up the entire window but my cat is small but long so when he sleeps on it his legs hang off lmao. He doesn’t seem to care but for larger cats it might be too small! I’d say it’s good for any cat to just sit on to look out the window but if your cat is like mine and likes to stare out the window while laying down and also sleep on high up perches like this, then part of him might hang off ahahaha. Overall this is a great product and I would recommend! My cat absolutely loves it even though his legs are always hanging off lol!
