Best litter for automatic cat litter boxes.
The Crystal Cat Litter is easily the BEST solution for the drum-type automatic litter box that we use. Only the solid waste is coated and removed when the litter box cycles, and the removed waste has enough crystal coating to eliminate the associated odors. The crystals also “roll” smoothly as the drum rotates, spreading out evenly instead of leaving hills and valleys, and there are no lumps sticking to the sides or bottom of the drum.However, the real magic occurs with urine control! The urine is simply absorbed by the litter and is not removed from the box – but the odor control is so effective that one 7-8# charge continues to be odor-free for more than 14 days with our two 16# cats and the box cycling only a couple of times/day. By then, the litter is just starting to turn yellow-greenish and we just empty the drum and replace the litter. There is less dust than we’ve found with other litters, and the larger crystals have less of a tendency to stick to paws and be tracked around the house. It’s not the cheapest solution, but for the best odor-control and minimum effort in a small apartment, this can’t be beat!

This is the best litter in a multi-cat home. We use this in our litter robot and it works well. We’ve tried several other crystal litter brands, but always come back to this one. This one controls odor, is low dust, and low tracking than all the others.

Quality, Efficient Kitty Litter
This cat litter is exactly what I’ve been searching for. There is less dust than traditional clay kitty litter, it helps with the smell and doesn’t track on the floor nearly as much as the clay litter. This litter also lasts longer and exhibits great absorbency. It has been wonderful to have a much more efficient kitty litter in the kitty box!

I thought it was fine, my cat said ‘meh’
I ordered this because the fine-grain Skoon litter my cat likes has been out of stock since the beginning of September, both here and on their own website. I keep an extra bag on hand but finally used that up and needed something! This is made from the same stuff (diatom pebbles), so I was cautiously optimistic. It’s also less expensive: $20 for 8 lbs, where Skoon is $30 for 8 lbs. At first glance, it looks very similar to Skoon’s fine grain product, with pebbles the same size but more color variety in the mix. I noticed a slight smell when pouring it into the clean litter pan. Not a bad smell, just different from the plain neutral dry dirt smell of Skoon. The first time my cat went in to use it, she had a lot to say about it – literally, she stepped in, sniffed around and came right back out without using it and meowed at me for a few minutes while I apologized and explained that the people didn’t have her regular one so I had to get this one for now. She grudgingly decided to use it ð This one is low tracking, about like the Skoon fine-grain. It does not control odor as well as the Skoon brand. I used the same quantity/depth in the litterbox as I do for Skoon, which would last two full weeks with odor well controlled, and even into a third week by adding some zeolite sprinkles (NonScents) after stirring/scooping. I had to start using the zeolite with the Pet Safe litter after six days, and fully change and clean the box on day 11, as the ammonia smell was just overwhelming, and my cat pottied in the atrium in protest. I was scooping poop and stirring the pebbles at least once daily, as I did with the Skoon, but this one just did not hold up. Since Skoon fine-grain is *still* out of stock, I ordered another bag of this one, and will just plan to use a little less to stretch it, and will have to fully change the box every week instead of 2x/month.

Great litter.
Love this letter it keeps the smell almost nonexistent. This litter lasts almost a little over a month before we start noticing any odor. The cat loves it so itâs a win-win situation.

Next time Iâm going to buy the lavender scent but this time didnât this is the best value for the price Iâve gotten it works great covering up the smells. I absolutely love it so do my cats lol

Too dusty!!!
I really wanted to love this cat litter because it’s diatomaceous earth, which is used for pest control (fleas, tics, ants, roaches, bed bugs, gnats, etc). However, diatomaceous earth dust is horrible for your respiratory system and your cat’s. Cat’s don’t know to not breathe in the dust or to stay away from it. You can see the huge dust cloud it makes when pouring in my first video. And the layer of dust it left on the litter box in my last photo.I’m also not impressed with the amount of tracking that’s occurring. You can see all of the pebbles in the anti-tracking mat on the floor in the 2nd picture.We have 3 cats using one Whisker Litter Robot 4 and have been using this litter since Monday. I’m not noticing much smell, but the smell from non-clumping litter normally comes from absorbing the urine after a couple weeks. I’m happy to come back and give this product an extra star if there’s no smell in 2 weeks and if I don’t have to add a bunch of extra litter. The price for 8 pounds of litter is astronomical, so if it holds up then I’ll change my review.

I have one elderly cat with dilute pee and somehow this litter STILL manages to absolutely reek after 6 days of use, even with the recommended “stirring” to mix it together for better absorption. Sorry, but if I’m paying $41 for what equates to 2 weeks of litter, it should be stirring itself.Absolutely not buying this again, moving to the poowee brand which is a lot cheaper, bigger bags and has much better reviews. Gave it a real go for a few months but it’s just not living up to its promises.

Fantastic works well, No odour, no tracking, no scooping! I do remove solids. After trying many many litters that stunk with perfume, made the house smell with urine, needed daily or more scooping, was heavy to handle, stuck to the cats feet and tracked everywhere i have found this to be brilliant.

This is the cleanest manner of dealing with cat waste. Unfortunately it does not clump, so urine stays behind but all solid waste is disposed of with each use.

I read many reviews regarding (1) dust, (2) tracking, (3) poor odour control, and (4) the bottom of their litter box pooling with urine. I personally did not experience these issues. My biggest concern is odour control and the unscented one I purchased prior even performed well. I believe I “mitigate” these issues with these “steps”: (1) I pour the litter into my cat’s stainless steel litter box low and close to a bottom corner of the box before shuffling it gently to spread out the litter. This immensely helps with keeping the dust at a minimum (2) I have a litter mat under the litter box and my cat would maybe track 1 to 2 crystals if she happens to randomly skip the mat. (3) My place will STINK at most a few minutes but that scent is there after she poops and prior to her covering it up. My basement apartment is small and so her litter box is unfortunately placed where my kitchen and living room is. So it’s very present in my apartment and not hidden. Aside from the few minutes of it stinking, I do not pick up traces of urine or poop scent throughout my home after. (4) After my cat urinates, I let the crystals soak it up before I gently mix the crystals around. My catâs urine has never pooled at the bottom and she urinates QUITE a lot at once. I do understand these crystals will not do well with multiple cat households or a cat that frequently urinates. I scoop her litter box every day and I deep clean her litter box every 1.5 weeks. I have heard that some clean it monthly, but I rather my cat not step in a monthâs worth of piss and poop ;p I hope this helps

J’utilise ce produit depuis Février 2024 et je dois admettre que c’est un excellent produit avec la litière automatique PetSafe ScoopFree Crystal Smart Litière autonettoyante. Je retire les excréments de mon chat tous les jours quand même pour éviter les odeurs et tenir la litière très propre. Aucune poussière et presque aucune odeur sauf quand il le fait en ma présence :)…
