Bigger than I expected
We’ve collected a few different “Pets Alive” animals over the last few years – and recently, my son has been obsessed over the idea of getting a bird: ENTER Polly, the Magic Bird.First off – Polly is WAY bigger than I anticipated!! We’ve had the Pets Alive mice family, and they were small, we’e also had the hamster family – and this is definitely more in line with the size of the hamsters. (In other words, if you’re thinking this is a “pocket-size” bird, you’d be mistaken.)As with the other Pets Alive animals, you do need to closely read and follow the instructions in order to make everything work properly (and be patient, these things aren’t instantaneous, they do take a little bit of time). But once the bird appears – it’s non-stop fun. Slightly annoying, but my kids could not stop laughing hysterically, getting Polly to repeat more and more crazy things.This bird has been a huge hit in our house – would make an amazing gift for any little kid!

This thing is great! As annoying as it is because of all the noise it makes by repeating everything you say. It works amazing. My daughter loves it. It looks super cute great quality and was a great gift.

So much fun, entertains for hours
My kids absolutely love this “magic bird”! From the curtain reveal to the waking up of Polly with a wand, they were hooked and so excited. The bird moves, flutters its wings, sings and records and repeats back what you say which has my kids talking to it and giggling for hours! Just this feature alone is a huge hit. This also comes with a small extra “baby bird” that my kids love as well. This is great fun for a wide range of ages and really does a lot of different things. It works well and is cute and entertaining. This would make a great gift!

Cute animated pet for young children
I originally purchased this for my son because one of the reviews shows a young boy playing with and loving the bird. My son, Iâd immediately identified it as a girls toy because the packaging is pink and it does come across like itâs more for a girl. Thankfully, I have a six-year-old niece who very much did enjoy it.At first, she thought it was a little bit of a baby toy because by six years old a lot of kids are on their Chromebook and tablets and see the toys at older kids are playing with, and this is definitely aimed at a younger audience. Personally, I think it would work better for kids who are five years older or younger and kids that are not yet using electronic devices or watching YouTube.However, despite her at first thinking, it was a toy for younger kids. She ended up really enjoying it. The trick where the cage looks empty, and she waved the magic wand impressed the button to make the bird appear with something she did for everyone because she thought it was an awesome magic trick. She had so much fun with it that my son actually wanted to play with it too, and they both ended up doing magic tricks for everybody. They also both really enjoyed the bird repeating what they said.They both kept repeating silly phrases for the bird to say back to them and wanted us to hear it as well. It ended up being a very good fun toy. When we left, my six-year-old niece offered it back to my five-year-old son and while he did say, âitâs a really cool toy.â He also told her she could keep it cause itâs more of a girlâs toy.So I give it a four star just because although itâs fun, it gives an impression of being for kids who are younger than intended and gives the impression to boys that itâs made for girls. Those are the two things I would improve about it if I could.

Need adult supervision
I hate to be negative but this toy is not designed for a young child. I purchased this for our 7 yr old niece to play with when she visits. Just the packaging alone took me time to remove. The first time she tried the âmagic trickâ, the bird disappeared perfectly. It was getting the bird to fold back down that was difficult for her. The tree leaves kept getting stuck if not hooked properly. This is not a toy she can use by herself with an older person. The exception is the bird. Hilarious funny that it does repeat what you say. She did have fun playing with the bird as well as the baby bird in the egg.
