Customers say

Customers find this cat brush effective at removing loose fur and appreciate that it works better than human brushes. The brush is comfortable for both cats and easy to clean, with customers noting it’s good value for money. While some customers find the size perfect for cat grooming, others say it’s too small, and opinions on comfort are mixed, with some finding the handle comfortable while others say it hurts their cats.

    Brushies!!
I love this brush for my cat. He has short, soft, luxurious hair that feels like a rabbit but he SHEDS like CRAZY. This will take 2 brushfuls out at least every other day and he still has plenty of hair on his body but greatly reduces the shedding in our house. He loves it. I yell “brushies” and he comes running!

    Best brush for short hair
These are the best brushes for American short haired cats and short haired dogs. I have 2 cats and 2 large dogs. 1 of each is shedding their winter coats terribly . I ve been looking for this particular brush because the pins are the right tightness to grab lots of hair & it does a great job. I also purchased another for backup. I prefer this kind & manually remove the hair from the brush as needed ., so there’s not much to break on this. Good price.

Great on my two Maine Coons!
I honestly first liked this brush for the price. Cheap is my automatic setting. lol I ultimately chose to buy this because it has a small surface area and long handle. My longhaired Maine Coon curls up like a potato bug when you brush her belly so I wanted something small to get in there and work on those matted areas.I have 2 Maine Coons- one long and one shorthair. I really got this for my longhair because a slicker brush is the best way to get the mats out of my longhair. Both my cats are 16 and they’ve hated being brushed their whole lives. Now that they’re old and don’t groom themselves as well as they used to I really need to brush them regularly. They both hate this brush as much as any other, but I love it to pieces! The handle makes it really easy to hold on to while my little guys try and escape. I do love that it’s gentle so I don’t have to worry about hurting them when they try and death-roll out of my arms or off the bed. Some slicker brushes have thicker and stiffer wires which have hurt them in the past so I was very relieved that this is better. The brush catches hair really well and is easy to clean. It also doesn’t stab you when you clean it off like another slicker brush I used to have for my Akita.I would love to tell you my cats love this brush, but I can’t. They hate all brushes equally. I can at least recommend this as an owner of two old, cranky and squirmy cats.

I’ll let the cats review this: Five Stars
My cats–and in particular one of them, a tortoise shell–absolutely love this brush. She tolerates other brushes (like a natural bristle brush that I bought at Target), but she *loves* this wire brush. She was having a problem with little clumps of matter fur that were really starting to concern me. They caused her no discomfort, the area wasn’t sensitive, there was no discharge, so I had to assume it was just a matting issue. I did some online research and, duh, someone suggested trying a wire brush–so I bought this one (and not just because the initials of the company are the same as mine, lol).I was very pleasantly surprised at just how much my cats took to this brush! They just kept coming back and asking for more brushing. Where they used to tolerate a minute or so (with the old brush), they will literally sit there and let me brush them until my hands get tired. The bristles are wire (some reviewers seem surprised by this, but it’s clearly stated), they are short (you don’t want long prongs of wire digging into your cat’s skin–short is better) and if you follow the instructions and brush against the grain first, then with it, this brush works beautifully.I think that for the price, this brush is the ultimate cat accessory bargain. I’ve re-ordered just to have a few extras because whenever I find something that I like it seems to disappear from the market. I’ll give my cats the final vote here: five stars.

OK, doesn’t have protective caps on the ends of the bristles.
This is a very good brush. Like the Hartz Slicker brush I just reviewed, this brush has a very nice feel in the hand. I can hold the handle or the brush itself when using it. However, I like the curved shape of the Hartz brush better because I can get a better grip on it.The other reason I (we!), actually prefer the Hartz Slicker is that the Hartz has small protective caps on the ends of the brush’s bristles. These tiny oval caps protect my cat’s gums when he rubs the sides of his mouth against it, which he does often. The JW brush doesn’t have these protective caps and so I have to be more careful to release pressure when he jams his face against it. My cat prefers the Hartz brush but perhaps your cat will like this very good brush.

Every cat is question, maybe this is your answer
I went through the descriptions of hundreds of brushes and compared dozens before I chose this one. What I can tell you is why it worked for me. One of my cats is an older cat. She’s got long fur and she’s what I call a gargoyle because she’s got attitude. She only likes certain people, certain areas of the house, being touched in certain ways and won’t be put up for being picked up. I’m fine with that because a) she’s a rescue – came into our yard tiny and with a broken toe, b) she’s over 13 years old, so she’s earned her kitty stripes, and c) she’s a cat, so she’s a jerk by nature anyway. She never grew any bigger than the average adolescent cat, but her fur is very long and fine. Thankfully she grooms herself very well, except she can’t reach her chest well. It seems like most needle brushes I’ve found have been either too large for her frame and/or dug too deep toward the skin. She loves this brush and it fits her chest area perfectly! For us it’s a perfect match. However, your mileage may vary, so I recommend you review plenty of brushes before you buy or you may end up with buyers remorse. For me and Neko, 5 stars.

Amazing. My cat is old, skinny with a surprisingly thick coat. Got a few matts which we are working on and this brush is brill. Slowly slowly but very good. Thoroughly recommend.

I used to have one of those typical rectangle shaped brushes for my cat. The problem? The bristles were awful and some even got bent and fell out. After using this brush? My cat is delighted! He now LOVES being brushed. He even jumped up when I stopped so he’d get his fur brushed again, haha. The handle is comfortable and nice and the brush is a great size and does the job. Will be buying from this company again.

My black older cat found it a bit harder to get used to as I think he is a bit more sensitive maybe? I may keep going or try to get one with softer ends. However, surprisingly, my fluffy longhaired cat really enjoys being brushed! We are still working down to her bottom area but so far we have gotten our a few small mats so I’m thinking positive!

My cat doesn’t like being brushed, this is the only brush she tolerates.Having a round head and not square is a better design. Postage extremely fast, very happy with it.
