Good support fur an FIV cat
Purchased fur our FIV positive cat. While he did not like as well as others, I attribute it to his picky eating. Good product support fir these cats.

    Try Something Else
Not a fan. The treats are quite large like theyre intended for a dog. I have to break it up into smaller pieces to even offer to my fur baby. They smell horrible and must taste equally as horrible because my cat won’t eat them even when mixed in both wet and hard foods or even disguised with other treats he does enjoy. He literally sniffs these out and eats everything around it. Waste of money and now have to find a better alternative.

Good product but not for picky eaters
My cats are picky with treats and sometimes they would eat it and most times they would not. The only way that they would consistently eat it as if I chopped it up and threw it in with their dry food. That’s a lot of extra steps so that is why I have since switched to powdered lysine that I just sprinkle over their dry food and toss it around in the bowl a few times to evenly distribute it.

I was so excited to finally get these…..
I recently adopted a Maine Coon kitten from our local shelter. I was so excited about helping them & giving the kitten a home. Unfortunately, the kitten brought an Upper Respiratory Infection along with him:( That turned into $125 in vet fees. But the worse part about it is, he has Feline Herpes. Apparently my other cat had it too, but she never had any flare ups, until he came here. Now they both are sneezing, coughing(occasionally), and have watery eyes all the time. I feel so bad for them. It breaks my heart seeing a 5month old kitten sleep all day, when I know he should be running around destroying the house & everything in his path. My vet told me how helpful Lysine can be for feline herpes so I was extremely excited to find these treats on here. From the research I’ve done it seems like the majority of Lysine comes in liquid or powder form. That will not work for me seeing as I feed my cats dry food(It’s better for their teeth). Then I was even more excited when I read the reviews for the product, and the majority of the ppl said their cat(s) loved the treats & had no problems eating them. Now I’ll tell u about my experience with them. First of all it needs to be known that we are a big fan of treats. My cats love them & we always have 2-3 kinds on hand everyday. My cats come running at the sound of a zip top bag. Bc that’s what their treats come in. Needless to say I was very happy with the speed of the shipment. I ordered it late Friday night & received it Tuesday:) I was guessing it would be more like Thurs or Fri. But I was wrong. As soon as I opened the bag the cats came running. My first impression was, “Wow, these things are HUGE!”. U def. need to cut them in half or even thirds. Then the smell hit me. They are very strong smelling. So I gave each cat 1 treat broke in half. They both smelled it and walked away:( I was so disappointed. I had such I hopes & they were crushed in that one instant. I left the treats on the floor though & wouldn’t u know it, the little one(Gizmo) came back & started batting the treat around the house like a toy. Lol. Then to my surprise he ate it:) That’s when he became addicted. He ran back over & got the other half batted it around for a second & ate it too. Then he came to me wanting more. I gave him another half. I didn’t wanna give him too much bc he’s so small. The bag says 1-2 treats a day. So I figured 1 & a ½ would be ok. I swear though it was like those things were a drug to him. He went around the house smelling all the places he had the treat as if he was looking for more. I’m extremely happy he likes them, but I’m sad Lilly won’t eat them. She’s older & wiser I guess. But I do think if they didn’t smell so strong she’d try them. It reminds her too much of medicine & not a treat. Overall, I’m glad I bought them, u can’t beat $8 & some change(including shipping). Atleast one of the cats are eating them. & to be honest he needs them the most anyhow. My advice to future buyers is; Don’t give up if your cat smells them & walks away. Leave them down there or slip them in their food. I’m going to mix one in with regular cat treats to try to get Lilly to eat them. Maybe that’ll work(fingers crossed). Sorry this review is so long. As u can imagine, I talk a lot:)

    Disappointing
After reading all the reviews on Amazon I was really looking forward to giving these treats to the 2 out of 3 cats that have feline herpes. I have been grinding L-lysine tablets into a powder that I would then mix with the gravy part of their wet cat food. I had hoped to give myself a break from this job. Alas, it’s not going to happen.Cat #1 with the worst case involving a weeping eye, black crusts, and crusty nose blockages was crazy for the first treat! I was thrilled. Then the second was partially eaten. And she was not interested in more. I even wrapped her favorite Temptation treat inside the chewy one. That fooled her once or twice. No more for her!Cat #2 refused even the first one. These cats do not eat liver from chickens or other animals. So #2 was not going to get tempted. They could care less if the chew is fish-shaped. I think the manufacturer shapes them like that for my benefit. They might have had a better chance with my cats if the flavor tasted and smelled fishy. They only want to eat fish flavored canned and dry food. But, cat #3 has been eating one of these chews every day. Not sure he actually has the herpes signs but he’s nuts about all treats except soft ones. These are as soft as fresh play dough. #3 has liked them in a decreasing way every day for a week until today when he threw up a few minutes after eating one.I have a lot of L-Lysine chews left now. In my enthusiasm I bought two packages and opened both so they would be available in different rooms… oh well…
