Works for many pesky bugs
I typically use this for flies around my horses, but I also discovered that it gets rid of box elder bugs, which are horrible if they take over your property! So, this concentrate is wonderful for multiple uses and effective!

Scaley foot mite treatment with this, coop/run cleaning gives best results! Lousy instructions t
This worked wonders for scaley foot mites on my small flock. Two of them are Bantams with feathery feet, and when I first got my chickens, in April of this year, I wasn’t aware that feathered feet chickens, plus straw as a bedding both can increase the chances of having mites. While Permetrin is perfectly safe for the treatment of scaley foot mites, lice etc on chickens,Once I learned about mites and saw that their feet were becoming dry and cracked, I realized what was happening. The whole flock must be treated if you suspect even one chicken having any of these issues which may indicate mites. A Permectrin treatment is NOT harmful even if the problem is not mites.I bought the Permetrin after a friend recommended it. Many others in a chicken group on FB i am in recommended Elector but that stuff is $150 a bottle! My friend assured me this treatment is just as effective. she has over 200 chickens, has raised and bred them for over 10 years, and I trust her completely regarding our feathered friends. The proper dosages for chickens, or poultry in general is 2 oz per 3 gallons of warm water in a bucket or large tub, the directions on the bottle are vague and not particularly informative, which is why I deducted a star. I’ll get into that later. The most simple way to do the treatment is to submerge your chicken for 60 seconds. Submerge as much as you can right up to just under their beak if possible, without drowning your friend of course. The warm water will calm your chicken. Massage under the wings, belly, and extend the wings as much as you can. DO NOT RINSE! Simply squeeze the excess solution off, and use a towel to gently massage your chicken just so they aren’t drenched. As long as the weather is warm enough this is sufficient, the solution is non toxic, so the chicken can safety preens himself afterwards, and will dry in the sun. But if the weather is cold, it is far better to do the treatment indoors, and consider giving your friend a blow dry, on low heat of course. They may object at first, but its usually the noise that may frighten them initially. The warm air will likely feel wonderful to them!I have a flock of 6 and the mixture of 2 oz of Permetrin and 3 gallons of water was enough for them all. After all six, the water level had lowered some, but it still felt very wasteful having to dump all of that solution. After the treatment, I did an extensive coop and run cleaning, sprayed the entire coop down with Pure Planet Poultry Spray, which is a mite and lice killer. Once dry, I dusted lightly with DE, tossed the straw, and switched to pine shavings. For the run, I scooped the feces, and did a good raking, churning up fresh soil with DE dusted into it to oxygenate everything. You MUST do the coop and run cleaning with the Permetrin treatment, because even if you treat the chicken, if you leave the mites or other insects behind, the treatment is rendered pointless.I gave my flock the 2nd treatment a week later, again submerging for 60 seconds, massaging in the medicine, along with another thorough coop and run cleaning. The bottle says to repeat 2 weeks later, but my friend recommended 1 week, and again as I trust her, I took her advice. I used vaseline on their legs daily in between. I did not use the vaseline the day before the 2nd treatment though, because if you use it within 24 hours prior to treatment the Permetrin may not be able to get all the way in, as some of the Vaseline may still be in there creating a barrier. This was several months ago and I have not had a recurrence of leg mites ever since.Another benefit of Permectrin is that unline other products, it does NOT have an egg withdrawal, which means that it does not secrete into the eggs, because it does not enter the ovaduct. So you can continue to eat their eggs during the treatment. While I did have great success with this product I do have some issues that really bother me. The label does not give much info on the label for treatment and they only provide dosing of poultry for very large flocks. You end up not using the whole thing unless you have hundreds of chickens, so while its not terribly expensive, thats not the point. its still a waste of money and product and materials.I mixed the smallest ration listed 2 oz for 3 gallons, to dunk my flock, and had to dump about 2 gallons of it. In the circled part of the photo, it says that 1 gallon of solution, when sprayed, is enough for 100 birds. So since the smallest dosing instructions listing is 3 gallons, the smallest quantity they are giving you instructions on how to treat is 300 chickens. Yes we can do our own math, 1 oz of solution to 1.5 gallons of water can treat 150 chickens, half an oz of solution to .75 gallon can treat 75 chickens, and then a quarter oz of solution to .375 gallon of water for 37. 5 chickens? How much solution do I need to treat my 6 chickens while wasting as little as possible? But that is really confusing doing all this math whittling it down half by half, and some people just aren’t good at math, they just want to treat their chickens. It would be really nice if this company made a small for those of us with small flocks, even a bottle for up to 50 chickens, enough for the treatment to be done twice.Even selling a 1 oz or 2 oz bottle, or pack of 2 single use 2 oz bottles, which I would purchase as I found the dunking method to be very simple and my chickens enjoyed it as well. And because in the little booklet that circled part is literally all it says about use for poultry, “Spray directed towards vent area.” Spray a whole half once just at their vent? For scaley leg mites? The vague information wasn’t helpful at all ao thats why I went with the dunking, and after repeating the treatment I still have a half a bottle and I have no idea if the rest of the bottle is going to go bad now because its been opened because the bottle doesn’t provide that information either. I can’t even imagine how many people are out there like me who have small flocks who did one or two treatments and have a bottle going to waste now.Despite the fact that I think they really need to make smaller bottles and are contributing to alot of waste because of this, and I their someone needs to rewrite their instructions and realize that their product is VERY widely used for chickens and they needs to be more specific in their directions and information. Not to mention, from a business perspective they should take advantage of the fact that backyard chicken owners are becoming hugely popular. Not everyone is going to have 300 chickens, they are only doing to have 5, 10, maybe 15 or 20. So they need to make it easy for these owners to treat their small flock.A smart company would see an opportunity, rebrand, and market themselves targeting these new backward owners, sharing that they are a trusted brand and product that has been around for a long time, but is trying something new to that makes it simple and convenient to treat their flock. Like a pack for a one time treatment for scaley foot mites, or other poultry issues, which includes 2 single use bottles of solution, and THOROUGH directions for use.Despite this nonsense, I do highly recommend this product itself. It does the job I needed it to. However, and I cannot stress this enough, the Permetrin alone is not enough, you have to do a top to bottom thorough coop and run routine cleaning routine it for optimal results. I had extreme success with my routine, many people do not like using DE and I respect that. I am comfortable using it because I take time and care to use it properly. The routine I did to treat my flock, clean my coop and run can still be done exactly the same, just without using the DE.My little Porcelain D’uccle’s feet were the worst, this picture shows her before and after. As her feet are very fluffy, her scales naturally show a bit more because she has so many hair follicles coming coming through, but you can see from this photo what a dramatic difference there was after the treatment. And don’t mind her dusty foot feathers in the second photo. Its tough to keep a tiny little fluffy one pound chickens feathered feet clean! She needs regular foot baths ðAnd I had 6 when I did the treatment. I now have 9. chickens,

Got rid of mud bees when nothing else would
We had mud bees I don’t know their real name but that’s what they were doing, burying themselves in the mud and a bunch of ferns we had growing on one side of our house. We could not even walk outside without getting stung. I saw where several people on other websites recommended this stuff to use. I did and it took care of the problem. We are no longer getting stung all over our bodies. We didn’t know what we were going to do they were not honey bees but still I didn’t really want to kill bees but we had tried everything that everyone recommended and nothing else worked. This was my last resort and it worked! I use this a few months ago and the bees are still gone. I wanted to see how long it would last before I wrote the review.
