high quality and my fish love it
The quality is very high and strong. I’ve purchased ornaments from the local pet store only to drop them outside while cleaning and have them crack and break. This ornament is made of a very strong and durable material that I have no fear of cracking or breaking. It looks great in my tank and my fish love living in it. My golden algae eater even burrows under it and likes to hide there while my cichlids use the main part to hide. Very pleased with this product.

Big but broken
When it said large that’s what it meant! It’s too big for the tank I planned to use it on, but it also came broken. In order to return it I have to pay shipping, which would be more than I paid for it. So it’s a good size, earning some stars, but was broken and not worth returning, lose stars.

I really liked the item but when we got the grotto it was broken into a bunch of small pieces. REALLY disappointed!!!

This piece looks really nice in my 20g long. At first the golden SAE was afraid of it, which is funny for such an aggressive fish, but now she has fun swimming through the holes and checking it out. I’m sure she’ll claim it in no time. I’m knocking off 1 star only because I had to sand down many rough edges that were definite fin-splitters, and because the material is a little thin. I had a piece of the bottom/back break off in my hand while sanding – I wasn’t pushing that hard – and more break off when I tried to sand the edges of the break. Be very careful not to hit this piece against anything hard when washing or moving outside the tank because I’m suspicious it would easily break. And for this reason I feel the price is a little high. My piece is mostly gray with some shading…no brown highlighting like in the picture, but it still looks good under water with the lights on. Overall – it’s a good, unique piece, not something you’d find at PetSmart. I might get another for my larger tank after I see how this one holds up over time.
