Customers say
Customers find the artificial plant works well as a hiding place for baby fish, particularly guppies, and appreciate its quality and appearance in the tank. The product is worth its price and provides good value for money. Regarding floatability, while some customers say it stays on the bottom, others report it floats upside down or sinks. Customers disagree on whether it effectively protects fry from being eaten by larger fish.

Good enough
I have tiny fry. They donât seem to understand hiding, which works out since the type of fish I have donât eat their babies. Mostly the snails hang out all through this thing. It adds a nice green color to the tank though and probably helps with the microbiotic ecosystem. I do have quite a few fake plants, and a couple life ones, but Iâm guessing the fish like more things to swim around and block some of the light

SAVED MY FRY ð
I floated the grass on top of the tank . Fry were able to hid from adult guppies. Once I noticed fry in the grass I used a large clear bowl to scoop out grass and fry . And transferred to small tank just for fry. This method has worked multiple times for me. Great product.

Effective- if you have large tank you need multiple
75 gallon tank, while this does help hide fry and encourage tank population, you need several together for better coverage. One alone leaves more vulnerability. The fry love it and it has improved my fry survival. no assembly, looks nice on top of the tank. Value is good but should get more for that price.

My Frogs Love these!
I have six African dwarf frogs and they love these floating grass pods. Theyâre so easy to use, just rinse and pop them in the tank. I have to clean them often which is simple since the come apart and can be put back together easily. They look cool in my tank and the frogs use them everyday. Thereâs no smell from them. Theyâre a nice size and donât feel rough which was one of my worries bc I donât want anything to hurt my frogs. I highly recommend these.

Nice foreground plant and looks good with driftwood
I wanted some place for fry to hide and it works. There are many, many fry hiding in here. The grass ends are sharp enough to keep adults from probing in the middle. The fry hide mostly under the grass. I really like the way these look in the sand below my driftwood. They look like tufts of grass. So I ordered 2 more. Fry also like to hide in my Como Green Oval Leaves Emulational Aquatic Plastic Plant Decor 24″ for Fish Tank AquariumFood will accumulate in these but when I vacuum I also suck up tiny fry so I just leave it, the accumulated food doesn’t show much. Periodically I will pick up the grass as shake it and clean it out before I vacuum the tank. I think the fry live in here until they are big enough to navigate to the larger plants. These will float but looked odd to me floating upside down with the plastic bottom showing. So I half buried them in the sand or put a few small rocks on them to hold it down. It’s like having instant grass.

Didnât work for me
I had high hopes for these. My guppies always have fry during the night & they always seem to eat the majority before I can get them into the baby saver basket. I was hoping this product would keep them safe for only a few hours until I could get the fry moved to safetyâ¦this did not happen I flipped my light on to find a Frye being chased & no other Fry to be found even with this floating on top of my water. Captured lots of food & other material got stuck on this & I had to scrub out with toothbrush. I removed this from my tank.

It works!!!
This really works! I have been having issues with my platy fish population because I haven’t been able to salvage babies in a long time. There was one pregnant female who looked like she was ready to explode so I bought this in hopes that the fry would have somewhere to hide. I allowed these to float because I did not have any floating plants. I also read other customers who had great success by floating instead of tethering these things down. Today (within 2 days of setting these out), I saw that the female had a much slimmer belly so I started looking for babies. Lo and behold, there was one that was hiding in the floating breeding grass! I looked around more and was able to save a total of four babies which is more than enough to keep sustaining my aquarium. That was well worth the cost of the breeding grass. I’m a happy camper.

Fish love it! Bottom is good but floating Awesome!
Lots of baby guppies to protect was my intent but all the fish love them. The shade alone puts them at ease. The ability for small fish to hide and give them better chance to find food the larger fish miss all worth it. May add these to my koi pond. Highly recommend. Still using live floaters interspersed.

When I got these the first thing I noticed was how big they are! I was pleasantly surprised to say the least! Just plunk em in the tank and watch the fry hide in them. Perfect, probably going to order another set. Works for me!
