The Cats are Using it for Its Intended Purpose!
So, really with these things, the key question is whether the cats are using it – ’cause, you know, that’s the whole point. Mine took to it right away, so the answer to that question is a Yes, at least in my house. Now onto the secondary matters… is having a cat scratching post the most aesthetically pleasing thing in your home? Nah. More aesthetically pleasing than a torn up couch? Yep. And as far as scratching posts are concerned, this is a decent looking one. The base is a light beige carpet, as is the top, and of course the pole itself is covered in sisal. It’s neutral, which is pretty much what you want in a piece of furniture that is there just for the cats to scratch.Assembly was easy – it comes in 5 parts (along with screws and Allen wrench), with everything you need to assemble it, along with instructions: 1) the base, 2) half of the pole, 3) the other half of the pole, 4) a “disc” (wood with carpet around it) that goes in between the two halves of the pole, and 5) the top (which has a little ball toy on an elastic string attached). Took me maybe 5-7 minutes to assemble, and that includes time shooing away the cats who were investigating what I was doing. There are a few instances where you need to put a screw through what appears to be solid carpeting – but don’t worry, there’s actually holes in that carpet, they just aren’t visible (I was confused for a bit, but now I can spare you that confusion). Also, pro tip: hold the ball toy out with the elastic extended a bit when you screw on the top, otherwise it will get wrapped around the central screw (another learning experience for me that I can spare you from). For those of you used to cardboard scratching pads, these are SO much better, as you don’t end up with cardboard shred all over your house. And finally, for those of you who are used to scratching posts/pads that come with catnip, just be aware that this does not come with catnip, so if you need it to help lure your cat to the post, you’ll need to get catnip in addition to the scratching post.

So far so good
I purchased this and after purchase, I realize that all of the reviews were not for the floor to ceiling cat tree. I was a little irritated at that, and that all of these reviews are for another item. Do better. With that being said, it seems sturdy enough. I put it up. I do have a big boy, I believe heâs about 15 pounds. He might be a little overweight, but he is a long/tall big boy.I think my biggest complaint are the instructions. If the manufacturer or the seller has better instructions for me, I would appreciate as I needed to add the extension bar and how you tighten it up is not in the instructions. Itâs not clear. Probably took me about 10 to 15 minutes. Every time I thought I was tightening it up I was also loosening one of the other bolts at the same time. So I was extending one part but loosening something else. So I would have to stop and tighten up what I loosened up. The instructions only show you what order youâre supposed to put the pieces in not how you actually tighten it. What bolt you are supposed to turn to extend it. If itâs common sense while it wasnât common sense with me.After all was said and done Iâm thinking maybe itâs the bottom bolt that youâre supposed to turn and that will push everything else up. I donât know. I might take it down and mess around with that until I figure out exactly what youâre supposed to turn to get it to extend. Because Iâm not entirely sure itâs as stable as it could be because of the issue I was having when tightening it.But as far as the stability of the platform, it seems pretty stable. Mine is set up on a hard surface. I did put marine vinyl underneath and up at the ceiling. To give it something to grip to.Will update. But the cat is very happy. He wouldnât even let me finish putting it together before I was trying to jump on it.

My large cat loves it!
I have an adult Norwegian forest cat, and he is a rather large cat in size (not weight) and he is very long when he stretches out. Because of this, he tends to be picky with cat scratchers and posts, but he absolutely loves this one!At first he didn’t seem to use it at all, but after a couple weeks of having it in the living room he warmed up to it and he now uses it regularly everyday. I’ve had it for a few months now, and the durability has held up as expected. There are a couple areas where wear and tear shows, but that is to be expected over time. My cat hasn’t ripped off or chewed off the pompom yet so that is also a durability testimate considering my cat would normally chew something like that off in a couple weeks.Assembly was very simple and all the things needed for it are included. It only took about five minutes or so from having everything out of the box to fully assembled. The instructions were easy enough to understand without any trouble. The size is fairly compact so I had no trouble finding a place for it in my apartment. The entire thing is very sturdy. It doesn’t wiggle or feel unstable in the slightest.5/5 perfect little cat scratching post that my cat actually uses. Definable would reccomend especially if you live in a smaller space.
