very sturdy, good quality, very large
we bought this for our syrian hamster, millie. this cage is roughly 1,000 square inches which is well over the minimum size requirement for hamsters (750 square inches). the wood was good quality although it can be sanded down for even smoother edges. it was very easy to put together, and it only took my fiancé about 20 minutes to build. the instructions were clear and easy to follow.we did have to seal the small gaps using 100% silicone sealant and we sealed the entire cage with mod podge gloss sealant to make it water proof (so it will not absorb any urine).this cage is true to itâs measurements. we only used the top platform so that we can put a lot of bedding in it. i definitely recommend this cage for your hamster!

Low quality.
This product came damaged. I had to sand down many pieces of wood due to jagged and sharp edges. The chicken wire on the top came unattached last night (Iâve had this for just over a month now) and my hammy got out. Thankfully we got him back in safely. This cage is a great size but ultimately the quality is low.

Not the best option
Dont buy it!!! It is a very nice cage and it has lots of room but my hamster has now escaped TWICE! I left out the middle shelf to make more room for him but i still installed the support beams i guess is what u would call them and he climbs up to the top of the cages and chews on the wire. He chewed through it one time and escaped and so i tried my best to cover it up hoping he wouldnât escape again. i just now secured it with zip ties which i admit i should’ve done in the first place. So if you’re hamster likes to bite and chew on things that he shouldn’t don’t buy it.

Holes aren’t pre-drilled
Cage is absolutely huge. However big you’re imagining it, multiply that by like 3. Its giant, and hard to put together. The holes for the screws aren’t pre-drilled so if you don’t have a drill you’re either 1) going to be there all night, or 2) doomed. I had to have my dad put it together and even then it took him almost an hour. The least they could do for the amount of money it costs is drill the damn holes. Also, the top doesn’t latch closed or anything so I had to glue on velcro to keep it closed so my hamster didn’t escape out the top. If you dont have it fully on a table it will leak bedding from the back.Overall a 3/5, its a nice cage once put together but could use a lot of improvements.

Despite the negative headline I would still give this product 4 stars because it was easy to put together (no worse than Ikea anyway) and it’s like a mini mansion for our two roborovski hamsters. It’s a great deal considering the money you might spend trying to repurpose your own cage, and it actually looks good.That being said, it does not latch at all, which is a problem if you’re concerned about cats or even the habitat’s inhabitants learning all they need to do to open the top is nudge it. Simple screw-in latches work fine but do not come with the product.It also does not have a bottom underneath the cleaning drawer which causes the drawer to come up if the edges of the habitat aren’t on the same flat surface – I was hoping to put it on a cabinet of ours which is slightly smaller than the habitat but it’s now sitting on the floor until we attach a sturdier bottom to it because it just pushed the drawer straight up.Finally, the top wire netting is not held in very reliably – it works for its inhabitants but if you have, for example, a large fat cat that jumps on the top or a younger cat that likes to try to pull it back a la the raptors pulling back the fence in Jurassic Park, you will have to provide additional cover or security to keep the netting in place or protect it.

I ordered the cage for my little peanut of a hamster and he absolutely loves it and how big it is. The cage arrived like 3 days earlier than expected which was awesome, when I opened the box one of the wood pieces actually broke off. Not sure if it was shipped that way or maybe got a little damaged during shipping but I reach out to customer service and they where so kind and helped me get it all sorted by offering to send new part. Great service and great product!

We recently purchased this cage and were disappointed to find it arrived with several scratches. Shortly after our purchase, the price dropped. I reached out to request a price adjustment and compensation for the damaged piece, but unfortunately, I received no response from the seller.The cage itself feels overpriced for the quality. It doesnât seem very sturdy and doesn’t meet expectations based on the listing. Overall, not satisfied with the product or the customer service experience.
